So, of all the recipes in mum’s book this ends on a cliffhanger. But I’m prepared to guess the remaining words are “golden brown”. I thought the onion sauce was definitely made with the lamb fat but maybe it’s the rougramnes. Original recipe from the Observer, a very long time ago.

We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep. Helen Browning’s Royal Oak in Bishopstone. Local asparagus, gorgeous (and quirky) service, just perfect.
I’ve been looking forward to my lunch since yesterday! Green lentils and quinoa cooked with a stock cube and some white miso, half an avocado with lime juice, the final Asian-style slaw with extra sesame seeds and baked salmon with togarashi sprinkled on. It’s lush!
I’m almost scared to try this - an ancient grain and this small brownie has 3.9g fibre in it! I need it to be delicious and not all virtuous.
I’m ignoring the binfire that is the UK today and focussing on my fibre! Today’s lunch has lots of elements and colour. Not worrying about calories just yet.
It’s a gorgeous day out but I’m stuck on the sofa with mint tea and a hot water bottle 😢
So very sad about @thelavenderloft.bsky.social losing Errol yesterday. He was so well loved and had the best life with her, Tall Hooman and the best brother from another mother, Chance. I was lucky enough to have had lots of time with them all and he’s leaving a huge hole in my heart. 💔
Our local pub used to do them. Shredded duck, spring onions & cucumber, hoisin sauce, sriracha. I even took a photo so I could recreate it!
These are the cause of much spending for me, especially now Waitrose sell them!

Expensive tuna seared rare, wasabi, soy and chive mashed potatoes. Wrong but then again not. The tuna was epic.
I’m also planning to decorate the downstairs loo! One wall of crazy paper and dark blue walls, which my brother says is black. It isn’t! But the photo doesn’t do it justice.
