Just in case there was any uncertainty about who is expected to drink the beer in this country.

Beer on a table. For the benefit of the uninitiated, they helpfully labeled it "Manns Bräu". But nobody must have been watching me too carefully because I drank it without anyone feeling compelled to bring me to rights about my behavior.

Kids: "We're going to the park to go play on the _frozen lake_. Bye." OK. I guess. (I mean there's a whole bunch of 70+ yrlds repeatedly chucking heavy things around on it, so all my childhood training re icy ponds is pretty much useless in judging this situation.)

A bunch of bayerische Mensch playing Eisstockschießen (bayern equivalent of curling) on the park pond. Out of shot are their bicycles and the broom. 'Cause that's how you travel when it's minus 8, but the cycle paths are, of course, cleared and gritted daily.

1990s ever ready 4xa battery hulking great beasts of lights that were really expensive and always got nicked if you left them on your bike during lectures. (As opposed to today's microscopic things that are two-a-penny. And don't even need batteries.
