P5 teacher trying to do the best I can. Outdoors, nurture and reading for pleasure. Mum of 2 through adoption. Can also be found in the water, on a rock, up a hill or with a book.
Last couple of climbs to finish the holiday. Put a top rope on and youngest climbed an E1!
Puffins! And seals, dolphins and an Atlantic Sunfish! Hope yours has been good.
Went to see the puffins which were beautiful as always. Lucky enough to see an Atlantic Sunfish and dolphins too.
A snorkel and a swim today. Many crabs (one of whom did a wee dance with her pincers) and lots of open mussels.
Hilariously, in the moment, this felt like I went from lying down to standing instantly. The reality was apparently very different!
It’s hilarious the different perspectives of things. This jump made me feel like superwoman. It looks so small from the bottom.
Wee paddle round the coast today. Ended up under the haar for most of it but still an incredible coastline.
I should have known after A Marriage Portrait that I wouldn’t have been able to stop reading this. (I only brought 3 books for 2 weeks because I thought ‘oh Land is 400 pages, that’ll take me a bit to get through.)
12/12 - bit of a different ride on the mountain bike this morning. Perfect temperature and enough wind to mostly keep the cleggs away!
We got this 12 years ago when the girls came. When we had to move, we moved it with us. Always relieved when it flowers each year.
Week 11/12 (yesterday) very warm! Was nice to go fast enough to get a breeze. Was chased back by the clouds but got home before the downpour.
Mountain biking again. Still not fit for it but so much fun! Did have a wee moment riding a drop off between two trees…
I’m guessing there won’t be many times in my life I can stand in the garden in my pyjamas at 1am watching an hour of lightning. It was quite spectacular.
