Despite Draymond’s own coach getting mollywhopped by MJ, y’all acted like he committed an unforgivable sin because Jordan Poole couldn’t take a punch. Keep that same energy for Bam & Herro.
In a perfect world, the powers that be would investigate the loss of a Black teenager in a white friend group as thoroughly as if the roles were reversed. My latest: ✍🏾👨🏾💻 www.contrariannews.org/p/if-all-liv...
ICYMI from this week: “What Simpson gained by winning the criminal court case, he ultimately lost in the court of public opinion. His acquittal did not signify innocence, nor did it absolve him in the eyes of society.” @newsoneofficial.bsky.social newsone.com/6864955/buff...
The Bills made a business decision despite the obvious racial undertones and cringe factor. O.J.’s infatuation with reaching the unattainable led to his downfall, and why his legacy is being erased. Hate it or love it, that’s how it is. My latest: @newsoneofficial.bsky.social (Link⛓️💥Below ⬇️)
ICYMI From This Week: “The cowardice in how Carlson maneuvers is a sufficient reason to ignore his shifting political allegiances. However, the unpatriotic nature of his devotion to policies and legislation that persecute millions is the bigger issue.” www.contrariannews.org/p/tucker-car...
Season 1 of #TheAgency was frustratingly mediocre. Season 2 was outstanding!!! They utilized the whole cast and told multiple stories. Releasing the entire season at once was the missing ingredient. Never seen a show make a jump that big. We HAVE to get Season 3.
Misdirection is a magician’s best friend. In politics, it’s known as a pivot. Tucker Carlson is using it as a convenient rebrand — seven months after Marjorie Taylor Greene pulled a similar move, that we should all ignore. carronjphillips.substack.com/p/tucker-car...
As I wrote, the NFL was going to decide Sorsby’s fate. @contrariannews.org www.contrariannews.org/p/what-brend...
ICYMI from this week — I wrote about: - How the NFL/society will determine Brendan Sorby’s fate - How it’s impossible to believe this administration likes Black People - How the Knicks who go see Trump at the White House won’t be remembered well @newsoneofficial.bsky.social @contrariannews.org ⛓️💥⬇️
James Dolan sold his roster out by accepting the president’s invite. Now it’s up to the players to decide whether to continue the silent White House boycott. I wrote about how history won’t be kind to the #Knicks who visit Trump. @newsoneofficial.bsky.social (Link⛓️💥Below⬇️)
“Racism’s superpower lies in the fact that many white people tend not to acknowledge its subtleties. But some instances of racism are so glaring that even those who claim to “not see color” must recognize it.” carronjphillips.substack.com/p/its-imposs...
The erasure of Chappie James and the silence around the attack on Michelle Obama demonstrate clear intent. It’s why I wrote about how it’s impossible to believe this administration likes Black people. @contrariannews.org (Link⛓️💥below⬇️)
1. If Brendan Sorsby couldn’t throw a football, no one would care about his addiction. 2. This isn’t over, as now society and the NFL will decide if he’s the beginning of the end of sports as we know it. 3. Read my latest on it. carronjphillips.substack.com/p/the-onus-t...
Told ya. Society & The NFL are going to decide his fate. www.contrariannews.org/p/what-brend...
And to think. People got mad at me for saying this…in 2023!
ICYMI from this week: I wrote about how Stephen A. Smith’s shucking and jiving couldn’t save him. And how nobody seems to care about the cop who beat a woman on video in NC. Where’s the national outrage? carronjphillips.substack.com/p/stephen-a-... www.contrariannews.org/p/a-cop-in-n...
Attacking the intelligence of a successful Black person is Trump’s favorite sport. However, no one wants to see, or hear, these two yell words that they can’t spell at each other. carronjphillips.substack.com/p/stephen-a-...
Despite reprimanding the NAACP for not inviting Trump to a convention and consistently criticizing Black women, SAS only found some chill after a white man called him out. He did all that tap dancing for nothing. My latest: ✍🏾👨🏾💻 carronjphillips.substack.com/p/stephen-a-...
“The tragedies of Renée Good and Alex Pretti seem forgotten. Now, we have video of a white cop beating a Black woman, and it hasn’t sparked significant protests or even hashtags. “This is definitely a ‘race thing.’ It’s also an American epidemic.” carronjphillips.substack.com/p/a-cop-in-n...
Ten years ago, it would have been front-page news. Six years ago, it still was. Today, it might be a Google alert — depending on your settings. I wrote about how a cop in North Carolina beat a woman on video — and nobody cares. My Latest: ✍🏾👨🏾💻 www.contrariannews.org/p/a-cop-in-n...
“Asking Black athletes to boycott in the post-Kaepernick era is to set them up for failure. The idea behind the boycott is noble, but the chosen participants are not. Athletes have proved incapable of sustaining stances against oppression.“ carronjphillips.substack.com/p/the-naacps...
I wrote about the NAACP’s “SEC/ACC boycott” — and why it won’t work. The idea is noble, but focusing on athletes is misguided. Encouraging Black students to pivot from PWIs to HBCUs is the answer. @contrariannews.org (Link ⛓️💥 below ⬇️)
ICYMI from this week: SCOTUS helped Brian Flores…WOW! 👨🏾💻✍🏾 newsone.com/6861770/scot...
Happy Sunday Reading! 📖 ✍🏾👨🏾💻 @contrariannews.org www.contrariannews.org/p/lane-kiffi...
“Lane Kiffin has finally seen the forest for the trees, despite having always lived in the woods.” I wrote about how Kiffin’s awakening to racism exemplifies America’s willful blindness to it. carronjphillips.substack.com/p/lane-kiffi...
Lane Kiffin has coached in Tenn, Florida & Alabama. But, apparently, Mississippi gave him the realization that racism in the Deep South plays a role in recruiting for a sport that’s overwhelmingly Black. My latest: @contrariannews.org www.contrariannews.org/p/lane-kiffi...
I watched “The Drama” tonight. 2 things: 1. This movie is why you should ask a lot of questions. 2. Anytime I see Buddy in something, I know I’m gonna hate his character, because I’ve hated all his characters besides his role in Uncorked — a VERY underrated film.
