Welcome to the Bluesky feed for CelGen and CelGenStudios! Keep an eye on me for updates.
Late night computer maintenance. Had to use the GRiD to take a Zenith floppy and make it a bootable 3.5” floppy.
It is however missing the GPU’s themselves but the PCIe interface card was put in the unit for safekeeping by PO and I have another set of FX 4500’s and G-Sync boards that The Hackery gave me a few years ago. I’ll hunt for the interface cable this weekend.
Dammit, if I had stretched it out a little more, we would of broken 400 miles on a tank of gas.
It was a tight photo too. This was at the very edge of the pull-out for the Weed, Ca rest area and it only worked in portrait because immediately to the left are road signs and on the right is the light tower from the airport across the highway. The low angle hides other buildings.
Lisa Lougheed is hiding in the emergency stack of Minidiscs, just in case.
Please take me back to 2004 when I could buy something for $20 and shipping didn't shaft me raw.
Sometimes I look at the roof of Nvidia's head office and wonder "What would happen if I pushed it like one of those triangular dome switches on a keypad?"
Okay I think we are finally good with this machine for now. I only have one 8” double density disk and it’s bad so I’ll have to order more in.
Except the cable’s fine if you use it as a SCSI cable 😵💫 It has to be doing something really dumb in the cable like it’s eliminating wires by tying grounds together or otherwise making it no longer just a passive cable. Won’t affect anything when being used fro SCSI but makes anything else not work.
Unfortunately no video tomorrow. I've been working on getting things ready for VCF West I've not had any time to record anything.
Finally I can not feel embarrassed when I show people the Tourism Kamloops Map (mid-2000's) and have to explain that someone's artistic direction barely matches reality.
Welp! I didn't want to make the trip this year due to costs but something came up and I guess I'll be at VCF West at the end of the month! >.>
Oof. Bought a 24 hard sector disk pack on eBay and it’s junk because of poor storage.
A Thank You goes out to @averyredbox.bsky.social and @ajfabio.bsky.social who both surprised me with a gift in the mailbox this afternoon: Two more RAM-9 chips!
A while back I found a much wider version of the same image and you get to see more details of the computer room, tables and disk drives. It's two pages from the "Introduction to Computers and Data Processing". Enjoy!
Trying to get the car ready for the summer and next year but while doing the inspection found a cracked floor pan. It’s fine and as you can see it’s a PNW car, so no rust but that will take a few days to fully repair. Check out that nasty booger weld too! 👌
We’re okay here for now as this is all gonna be from the Boston Bar fire about 150km west, but it must of really kicked up today as it’s dropping ash.
It’s cleaning up okay but the metal on one side is fogged from a random battery being left to leak in the same bag.
Lithium Energy Cell ( it’s actually the handle/battery holder for a 1965 Minolta AUTO ZOOM 8 camera but damn, the design of this is really nice for what looks like an energy cell )
