I’m kind of surprised it has taken this long for Medabots to go there with their gacha, but we finally got to the gooner content
Game #36 of 2026 The World Next Door A charming other world with surprisingly challenging but really fun gameplay. Story was sort of melodramatic but okay, but then the abrupt half-baked ending happened. It’s a real shame because it was just starting to really cook. Wish there was more, honestly.
Game #35 of 2026 Quest for Camelot It’s like an attempt at Legend of Zelda while not really knowing what makes that good or fun. Everything is a damage sponge and there’s weird precision shit happening even. I do miss when like every movie/show got a licensed game regardless of quality though.
Game #34 of 2026 No More Work for Ito This is probably the most relatable story I have experienced since playing And Roger, and it hit in multiple ways for me. It feels like it could have lasted longer, but I appreciate that a story about the soulless grind of work didn't overstay its welcome.
Shoutout to Spilled! and Halfmoon since the mobile games are constantly pushing everything else back. #BackloggdWeekly
Game #33 of 2026 A Building Full of Cats 2 I may have jumped back into a Full of Cats title too soon after the last one lmao. I found it a little too repetitive this time with the apartments. The theming for them was dope, some good minigame ideas, but some less so (rhythm games *shakes fist*).
Game #32 of 2026 Star Fox I always imagined Star Fox 64 looking like this as a kid and seeing it now, I’m in love. It is SF64 at its best and brings me hope that we will get a truly new Star Fox game in the near future. This is going to take some time for me to out fully down, it’s so fun.
Game #31 of 2026 Spilled! Super cute, super short game about cleaning up the ocean. It was interesting how well the game worked and it was really visually appealing. The main takeaway I think was that if your boat pollutes the ocean, a smaller pissed off boat will spray you until you sink and die.
Game #30 of 2026 Halfmoon The pixel art in Halfmoon is gorgeous, truly beautifully done. It's unfortunate nothing else really lived up to that quality though. I can see a story argument for why some things were lackluster, but the quality, specifically controls, was still frustrating sadly.
Game #29 of 2026 A Shelter Full of Cats I love Devcats and their hidden object (cat) games. They're so relaxing while also not being too easy. It's a great balance. This iteration provided lots of information as well, and some additional puzzles outside of finding cats. These are always fun!
Game #28 of 2026 Before Your Eyes Using blinks to control a game is such a novel, but amazing concept. I wasn't sure how I felt about the game until midway through. It honestly felt like another A Memoir Blue or Hindsight + blinking, then it took a swift turn into peak territory. Brilliant game!
Game #27 of 2026 Coffee Talk: Tokyo Familiar yet new. More of the same in a really good way. An almost entirely new cast outside with cameos of the old made for fresh, interesting stories. I liked the addition of cold drinks, it gave another dynamic to the brewing that made things challenging.
Game #26 of 2026 Yoshi and the Mysterious Book As per usual for Yoshi, it was charming as hell. I love the little guy. But it was safely fun. I thought the main story’s creatures were mostly dull. However, the postgame creatures were very fun. It felt like the concept was fully realized there.
Game #25 of 2026 AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative I loved getting back into this world! The characters are just so goofy; I love their banter. Somniums were missing a certain something this time around and felt like they spiked in time optimization way too soon. Still loved it though!
Game #24 of 2026 Donkey Kong Land I always wondered if I unreasonably sucked balls at this game as a kid. The answer is yes. But at least now I know that even if I didn’t suck balls at it, I wouldn’t have made it very far anyways. This game got unreasonable, fast. Definitely a game of all time.
Game # 23 of 2026 Wax Heads A neat little story about trying to save a record shop and good ole punk dysfunctionality. Truthfully the gameplay loop got a bit stale and store navigation could have been better. The stories of customers and employees, and the music, shined the brightest in the game.
Game #22 of 2026 Home Safety Hotline It's an interesting retro spooky concept and I had an enjoyable time with it, but it was quite repetitive. I wish there had been more on the prank call plotline, but a week wouldn't be enough to make it worthwhile probably. The VAs and art were well done.
Game #21 of 2026 Kirby’s Dream Land 2 I played this a lot as a kid and never managed to get to Dark Matter and I see why now. The game isn’t that hard, outside the Rainbow Drops and DM. Like what was that crap? I remembered this much more fondly, probably because I never got any of the drops 😂
Game #20 of 2026 Magical Drop II So the game is a quite fun, fast-paced puzzle game like Puyo Puyo. I did all the stories because they were sort of cute. I was very surprised to see all the characters named after tarot cards and also how fanservicey it was. Empress is a dommy mommy what lmao?
Game #19 of 2026 Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping Another case quacked by the Duck Detective! I love this series. It's gorgeous, the music/VAs are awesome, and it's nice to play through a less serious detective game. It is was a LOT less difficult with less moon logic than the original. 🦆
No joke, I’ve had a screenshot of Kalas’s stupid face on my phone for months now lmao. The portraits are kind of charmingly ugly imo
Game #18 of 2026 Kirby’s Adventure I love Nightmare in Dreamland and didn’t realize it was a remake of Adventure, so it was fun to see the original. It was a pretty standard fare Kirby game. My biggest issue was the emulator crashing out anytime more than 2 enemies were on screen; that sucked 😏
First try in Infinite Showdown today and I managed to beat the highest score I’ve ever seen in it by over 30 million I can imagine how demoralizing that’ll probably feel, because I thought 78mil would be unbeatable for me lmao
I didn't think I'd do all of Kimi ga Nozomu Eien's fan disc DLC stories in a day, but once I got rolling I couldn't stop. True Lies and Muv-Nozo were both weird and genuinely stupidly funny. They were very different from the other fan disc stories, but a good bookend for the title.
Game #17 of 2027 Kimi ga Nozomu Eien: Enhanced Edition A rollercoaster of emotions with someone always hurt. It relied a lot on the psychology of sex, and at times was very distasteful. Takayuki is basically a less dumb but way more immoral Shirogane. But it's one of the best VNs I've ever read.
Everything happening with Takayuki and Haruka in Chapter 3 no longer matters, I want more Chizuru! 45 hours in and these 5 minutes are the happiest I've been during it lmao
Game #16 of 2026 There's No Easter Eggs I needed a break from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, and what better than a holiday relevant hidden object game? Nothing really special. The most significant thing it did was force you to click specific eggs on hard mode. The 1000 egg achievement was some shit though.
