It could be that they patched it at a later point. I think it happens because the game is in widescreen (it was a PSP game), so the bug should occur to everyone playing on PC. Here’s what it looks like

19. Refind Self: The Personality Test Game I played this in May but completely forgot I dropped it. 😅 I liked the artstyle and the story in the background, but it personally wasn’t for me. I hate feeling lost without knowing what to do next, and I know this game would make me feel that way. 5/10

18. Final Fantasy 7 Remake I liked the characters, story, and gameplay for the most part. Ran smoothly on Switch 2 as well. I have a couple of complaints which I talk more about in the alt text. Overall, I like it. Nothing more or nothing less. 7/10

While I liked the game, I do not know if I want to play Rebirth for a couple of reasons.

First one is that it feels like the trilogy expects you to know what happened in the original. So I feel like I’m getting a lesser experience unless I go back to play the original. Which I don’t know how to feel about spending that much time on one game.

The second reason is that this game felt very serious most of the time. It might sound stupid but I wanted a bit of a break from the seriousness. There are a couple of funny moments thrown in there, but it felt like it was a lot of action packed or somber moments. I kinda wanted to spend more time with the characters interacting with each other, especially without Cloud. It also doesn’t help the majority of the game takes place in dark and industrial Midgar.

I don’t know if I’m doing a good job of explaining it, but in short, I don’t think I vibe with the story it’s telling.

That said, there may be a chance these issues are not a thing in Rebirth, and I may enjoy that game more. However, I have a lot in the backlog, so I don’t feel compelled to start Rebirth anytime soon. I’m not writing it off, though.

I probably need some time to think about it.

New Profile Picture time. It’s been 6 months so I thought it would be a good time to change. I have been currently vibing with Cerise from a game called Vividlope (very cool arcade puzzle game with a Y2K aesthetic), which I have been playing in my spare time. They just look so cute!

Cerise is on the left. She’s made up of circles and ovals with no limbs, but has hands and feet (kinda like Rayman but more circular)

She has long ears like a rabbit, wears a purple beret, and is doing the V sign with her fingers while smiling.

I kinda want to look up the other actors to see who they played… Final thing. I just discovered the existence of this. Man, I’m sad because I love Cactuar. I played him a lot in Mario Hoops 3 on 3 (that is a real game on the DS). I would have totally used him.

And that’s credits! I will post my final thoughts on another post, since it’s a lot. 2 things though. 1. I can finally look up the music for Remake. 😃 2. Red XIII is voiced by Max Mittelman?! I’m so used to him doing energetic young guys (persona 5, genshin, etc.) so that’s surprising lol.

Chapters 15, 16, and 17 involve going to Shinra HQ and rescuing a certain someone. At this point I learnt that I’m pretty close to finishing so I’m rapidly going through it. Also I love taking sunset photos, in games and real life. I love how the sky looks. #FinalCellery7Remake

Also this cutscene with Tifa and Cloud was meant to be serious but I could not stop thinking about why they’re in cowboy outfits. Are there rodeos in Midgar? 😭 They were wearing casual clothes in a previous cutscene showing them young. I’m so curious what the context is for this.

I liked Barret a lot more since you learn more about his personality, with him singing different tunes and being scared of certain things but still doing it anyway because he’s the leader. It’s also sweet that he tries to act all cold and professional with Cloud but he cares about him deep down. ☺️

Also if I had a nickel for every dude I met in a video game named Roche who acted like a weirdo, is annoying, and saves you for no reason, I would have two nickels. What is their deal, seriously?

Roche from Dokapon Kingdom. Usually he challenges you to Rock, Paper, Scissors, and he steals some money if you lose. Then other players can steal the money back.

However, if you are in debt and lose, he is able to just get rid of all the debt, just like that. 🫰

If you are in debt and win, he just whines and leaves. What an a-hole. 😒
