Just in case you were unaware: I’m a furry. A particularly deadly one, at that. 🦛🐻

A hippobear sits back on its haunches, filling most of the frame. Its head is tipped up and its jaws are cranked open around a bundle of leafy greens, blunt tusks riding the heavy lower jaw. The face is thick creased hide, gray-brown and armored, small round ears set high on a skull built to crush. Below the neck it’s bear: dense fur over a chest like a boulder, one foreleg braced in the dirt, claws long enough to open ground. Every part of it is loaded. Hippos run down anything that annoys them, bears do the same over rougher country, and this body inherited both. It’s eating salad. That’s a choice it’s making.

Today’s been a rough day. Felt like shit most of the day because my poor doggo Paris got ganged up on by the other dogs and we had to bandage her up :( And then I just sucked at remembering the things my partner has asked me to remember and I’m behind on so many things. ADHD blows. Trauma blows.

Or things like this that seem so disconnected from the professional world of work - it’s been a very long time since I’ve ever seen or heard this be the actual advice people get about what should be in a resume or portfolio:

Unfortunately, as I reread it, I keep finding things framed as LLM-related but are patterns that existed before LLMs, like this: These are sales emails! Form letters! As old as time!

Not for us neurodivergents!!! I’ve been saying for a while that LLMs were heralding the time of the ADHDer (and I suspect, more specifically, the AuDHDer): news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4834...

Interestingly, the Hacker News thread has gathered a number of comments from people with ADHD who are finding agents help them achieve the focus they've been missing:

"... for me (also ADHD) it's kind of the opposite. I'm finishing side projects for the first time ever because I can actually get them working before I get bored of them"
"As someone with ADHD I feel like AI is a salve for my mind. I used to listen to intense EDM while working. Now I sit in silence and talk to my agents. I maintain inbox zero. This a poor reading of what the article says. There is no causal link at this point, there are possible benefits but even in the article the experts say, “we can’t prove these things are linked”
