Things we'll soon hear from this Admin: "No, no, a $2.028 Billion Restitution for Patriots fund is a COMPLETELY different thing." "We will never stop looking for the person responsible for actually BURNING the unredacted originals." "If someone SAYS they're a victim, don't we have to respect that?"
OTOH, even saying the DoJ won't prosecute in the future "forever" is manifestly cuckoo. Drumpf believing that part is going to outlast his time in office by one day is proof positive that he's mentally incompetent. Hey, maybe that's the game... avoid convictions with a competency hearing...
Getting ready for classes in the fall, here's another map of Africa I will NOT be ethically able to use for my Geography students...
I point out again, as earlier, that the 25th Amendment is clearly worded ("unable to discharge") to indicate that if the process is used, the president would have no part to play in it. That meeting could already have taken place, without his knowledge, and a date already set.
:: coughs :: We're going to have to see what "power" is in the next few months.
Matthew Lillard as Shaggy in the Scooby-Doo movie. It's like God was laughing his butt off in the mid-seventies at the cartoon, and then thought "you know what, I'd better be sure someone gets born..."
Wonderful recounting. I can't help but think you have some subtle reason, aside from the date, for bringing this out now. It's just an intuition, mind you, but I can't shake the notion that you are onto something with this... gimme' a sec, it'll come to me...
Fitzpatrick exposes Patel. He sues for a gazillion. Sources crawl out like ants after four storm days. She fires off another piece, Atlantic backs her. Patel orders internal investigation. FBI spokesjoker sez "no investigation happening" It's like the trapped hyena forgot which limb to chew off.
Full disclosure- My Lovely Wife is an EXCELLENT cook. I love everything she makes. But when she tells me, "go pick up a rotisserie chicken" I also get little quivers of joy, 'cause I have PASSION for that stuff. And now you're telling me people on SNAP can't buy those? Are we serious here?
Hear me out. If you don't vote, the ballot you didn't cast goes into a pot and treated like a presidential candidate. WHEN that candidate wins--and it will win-- we pull a name from EVERY MOTHER'S CHILD in the country and make them president. That should solve one problem anyway.
One "ethic" on the table is obedience to the rule of law. If everyone over there could stop pretending we have snap elections, or a procedure to legally shoot an officer? Yeah...
What if... we privatized Social Security, Medicare, Disability SNAP, etc. but then tied its output to a reduction in the estate tax and the tax on the highest bracket? So billionaires would need to take it over and make sure lots of people got benefits because then they would pay less in taxes.
On Noem asking for info on people who've been critical of the administration. :: waves arm over head :: Yeah, right here. I'm volunteering for that classification. Let's dance, you poser.
If Republicans pass and sign the so-called SAVE Act, count on two things: 1) Lawsuits from at least a dozen states, that should get TROs beyond the mid-terms. 2) Targeted ads from Drumps and MAGA, going ONLY to blue-leaning districts and ASSURING them they're fine on ID, no need to check.
On Drumpf RX, I'm slotting it between the golden smartphones and the golden bibles in terms of scam-versus-stupid. Buy with insurance, $30 copay. But from his website, pay $199. However- notice people unable to get insurance... and hey, he just got folks thrown off Obamacare. So there will be some.
Most of it, I get, I have to take the heckling, it's justified. But if folks could just stop pretending that America has, like, snap elections or something?
Brilliantly framed- basically 80% of all Americans are now, by default, conservatives! I never knew I was in such good company (conservatives get used to being more or less all alone...). But this is marvelous, I feel like Scrooge on Christmas day. Which I got to do once...
Hear me out. A GoFundMe to pay Denmark to formally rename Greenland to Epstein Island.
Imagine the things a Republican-controlled Congress could do to triple their approval rating: -Impeach Kristi Noem -Cut the ICE budget (and boast about half a trillion $ savings) -Pass a resolution supporting Native American voting Sure, DRUMPF would lose... but they'd keep the majority
Let's compare, shall we? In the great-powers/spheres of influence world Drumpf is jonesing for... Russia gets Ukraine (nuclear power, rare minerals). China gets Taiwan (semiconductors, military tech). We get Venezuela (world's dirtiest oil, billions to rebuild) and maybe what, bananas from Panama?
