We should bring back jesters.
I'd be a little more excited at every film critic telling me The Odyssey is the best film of the year if they hadn't done that for every Chris Nolan film for years, including Tenet.
Anyway here's some fun news. SpaceX is now trading lower than its IPO price of $135. Took five weeks.
I will never never never stop being amused at financial news outlets who write headlines like up or down that are shown to be nonsense within minutes. Another one says "ASML soars." It has been dropping all day long. NVDA is down, IBM down even after its worst day ever y/day, AMD/MU/MRVL all down.
I'm sure there's a reason the BBC have decided to put a kids movie on at 10:40, but buggered if I know what it is.
Think if I was Willson Contreras I'd be *pissed* at being screwed by a needless knockout format. Imagine if they did other sports like this. How many last round winning discus throws or high jumps would we have missed because someone thought brackets were more exciting than a leaderboard?
Got Blood of Zeus on. It's bad and no one should watch it. It starts with Zeus raping a queen by pretending to be her husband - standard stuff, nothing he liked better - but then spends the rest of the season with him as woebegotten Sad Dad who really weally luvved her. Fuckin' weird call, lads.
Everyone seems very excited at the idea of The Times finally calling Farage out, but that's not what this is. It's a letter to him, not an editorial about.
"He's manufactured that, but I don't care." Never let this man work again.
Ironwood gets all the hate & understandably so because a few hours in the momentum is killed stone dead for what seems like an age, but there's also a running b-plot with atreus and his dull combat retrieving a McGuffin that's so inessential I'd literally forgotten it existed until I played again.
I finished God of War Ragnarok for only the second time earlier today. And while it mostly redeems itself with the third act, there are so many design decisions to criticise, chief among which is the fact that clearly, obviously, factually, it is two games compressed into one & the pacing is blown.
I'm getting to the stage where I genuinely want someone to do research into why jokes are so alien to so many people on bsky.
Had a look a polymarket for the first time last night and almost made a pretty penny, but for the fact I couldn't be bothered twatting about with buying crypto. Because he cried, on TV, and *after that* you could still buy yes while the odds of it "happening" were at 3%. Fascinating.
"The giants. They called me... Loki?" The ending of God of War (2018) is exceptional. Makes you want to play the sequel immediately.
Hey, look at Japan proving my "Give Jones a full cycle and be rewarded" thesis. An awful lot of people seemed happy to write Jones's squad off because they lost to... the All Blacks. Italy is a far more appropriate test, and they're *comfortably* winning this one.
