Good morning from Lilburn, Georgia, where liquid water will be precipitating any minute now. 🫤
They’ve done it again! The Criterion Channel has generated Yet Another New Version of the Gary Hustwit ENO documentary! Yay! More new bits!
Hey! Youse peoples! We got yer water down here in the Lower 48! It’s been raining like cats and dogs. Here in Georgia, the bunnies are all out in my back yard, nibbling on the grass! Really!
Good morning. This is looking east, from my kitchen in east suburban Atlanta, at about 8:30 AM, this morning. If you turn up the audio, you can hear one of our resident Cardinals singing.
Thanks! I've been listening to Nyman for a long time, but this is my first acquaintance with this piece. Browsing around it brought me to Yet Another New Musician Friend. 🙏
Your caption struck me as a quote from 2001: A Space Odyssey, which, somehow, dredged up this image from deep in the Memory Palace. Thank you!
The flying pig, blue marbled globe, and Phoebe, all three in front of the grass, shed, and invasive bamboo thicket in our back yard. Life is good. (no TM😉)
And here’s an oldie, going out to our friend Fraser H, @hungryforsound.bsky.social, who has been showering us with good music pretty regularly. What goes around, comes around. 🥰 This is Miroslav Vitous’ first album, Infinite Search, released in 1970, energetic, thoughtful post-bop jazz fusion.
Went for a walk, and wound up in the woods, half a mile from home, where this pond hides a hundred yards or so off the suburban side street. I didn’t see or hear the frogs, but I did see and hear the “plops” they made, jumping in the water when I got too close! 😊
A view to the east as the sun begins to set in the western sky, less than an hour ago.
Blue sky with white clouds, reflected in the ripples on the surface of a small pond. Springtime in Atlanta.
This little bird-person was outside my kitchen window this morning, in the 25 degree F. cold, trying to catch some warm sunlight, while staying out of the 25 mph wind!
Yesterday, late afternoon, suburban Atlanta. The blue sky, with just a few white clouds, is reflected in the tiny ripples on a little creek.
It seems like a nice morning. Having gotten a good night’s sleep helps with that.
The cover art from “Weasels Ripped My Flesh” is deeply imbedded in my memory, but also always near the surface, after all these years! 😮😂
Wetlands walks are some of my favorites! The phenomenon of water meeting the earth, the richness that is there, the sounds and reflections are precious and speak to something deep inside. There’s a little woodland creek fifteen minutes from here that I visit often. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m hunting for more videos of a small room performance by Julian Lage and Bill Frisell, and a very sweet track with Gyan Riley shows up, and John Zorn is mentioned. A commenter says he’s been listening to the albums, Which I’ve Never Heard Of! “Teresa de Ávila!” Zorn. Go. Listen! Be well. 😊
