Gut shot, '03 EMG SA loaded guard - truly luckly second-hand find.
Hard to capture but it has subtle flaming and birdseye all in one. Beautiful Midnight Blue, @thelovelylab.bsky.social has a '99 one, too. The EMGs are SA single coils - rather low, Strat-appropriate output. Nicely chimey and responsive, but they don't quack as much in positions 2 and 4!

Takes some adjustment and a lighter touch to keep notes from going sharp. Bending is amazing. Doesn't make me play faster though :). These first-gen Malmsteens have lighter scalloping than later models. But this design also caused one of its issues: two frets were popped out and needed re-pressing.
