This kind of defeatism does not serve us well. It's obviously engagement bait and although I doubt many people on BlueSky are going to stay home because of it, preemptively admitting defeat shows weakness and ignores myriad ways that activists are pushing back.

Scenes from the noon Trump protest in Boston Common. Speakers were drawing connections between the bombing in Venezuela, the threats to Greenland, and the assaults on immigrants. There’s another (likely bigger) protest at 2 pm.
One of my favorite things about living in Quincy is my semi-annual tradition of going for a jog past the John and John Quincy Adams houses. Round trip it’s just over three miles. This year, snow and wind made it more challenging, but still a pleasure.
