I read all of the volumes of Fall In Love, You False Angels that are out in english the other day and I loved it to bits. In a sea of little moments that really resonated with me, I think my favorite is the bit where the leads are texting each other random things about their days over the summer.

Luci walks down a flight of stairs to the entrance of her classroom.

TEXT: “It’s noon on Friday. I’m here early for the kids’ art showcase.”

As Luci approaches the door, he is startled by yelling and loud footsteps from the room beyond.

Luci, hand held out to turn the doorknob, stops and begins to fret.

“Oh, you’re cold!” Lorelei had told him, once, when he’d grabbed her hand to ensure she didn’t spill the boiling water for that morning’s tea over herself. She’d jumped at the contact, which almost undid his efforts entirely, but luckily no burns were sustained that day.

“Like a— Like a—” She made an odd gesture with her hands, and her wiggling fingers reminded him of little baby snakes. She spent a moment trying to find the right word, and Vira made a very valiant effort not to laugh at the way her face scrunched up in thought.

“Um,” he said, finally, pointing a scrawny finger at the kettle. “The tea?”

And with a comically squeaky “OH!”, the spell was broken, and the question of his below-average body temperature was—momentarily—dropped.

When she came to him later, having remembered the word she was looking for was zombie, he did not say that that wasn’t very nice. He only thought it.

Working together to solve puzzles and squealing about the various creatures together was such a precious experience. Cute little cooking game whose thesis is "this world is better with you in it".

It evokes a lot of the same feelings in me as 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, and that is a contender for my favorite game ever. I love this game. Expect fanart.
