Factory farming is by far the world’s biggest cause of animal cruelty. We have to end it.

Toxic pollution, linked to a Government push to increase pig and poultry farming, is contaminating Northern Ireland’s largest source of drinking water with blue-green algal blooms so extreme they can be seen from space. 🤯

After years of pressure and broken promises, the European Commission has published the Livestock Strategy – confirming plans to ban cages for hens and mother pigs. But what else was included? Vinciane Patelou, who heads up our EU work, explains! @ciwf_eu

The EU Commission states it will present legislation to phase out cages for laying hens & mother pigs. But millions of other animals will be left to suffer in cages, including rabbits & calves. The Commission must keep its word and #EndTheCageAge for all animals.
