We had a long weekend in Hertfordshire visiting some of our very dear friends. It is so lovely to re-connect with people you care about ❤️ The animals also appear to have had a great time without us. We are all shattered 😴
A picture speaks a thousand words. I absolutely love this photo from a couple of years ago 😂
I absolutely detest the reminder that people are being killed on a daily basis as US bombers fly over our home. Scary and vile. I'm in full support of regime Change- the Trump one, that is.
It was supposed to be cooler today - but it wasn't. So we ended up doing a 7 mile costal walk in 28° heat. Poor Raf was pooped. As were we 🥵
I have just finished watching Tip Toe by Russell T Davies, starring the astoundingly brilliant Alan Cumming. If you've not seen it, please watch. It says everything I have been feeling over the last few years. Feelings of fear for now, and the future.
Escape to the Coast again. Phew! At least we had a breeze today which felt glorious!
Today Bristol, a visit to the Aardman Exhibition and then lunch at Mowgli - bloomin yum.
Aw, thanks guys. My dad was a very good photographer, in the days when you had to do everything manually. At points it did feel like our only function as kids was to provide a splash of colour in the foreground 😂😂
Lynton & Lynmouth. We sought out the cool of the coast at only 19°. Bliss.
Rafa and her friend having a whale of a time on my birthday. 56, where has that time gone!!!
My new hat. I like to think it gives me the air of a murder mystery writer. The types of books where the action takes place in bucolic English villages, usually involving a vicar and a member of the Women's Institute 😆
After nearly 4 years of sleeping in her crate - we had to as a puppy or she'd choke trying to eat a cushion - Rafa has now progressed to sleeping on the bed. Thankfully we have a superking for a 15kg dog, sprawling cat and us two! So now this is what greets me when I open my eyes!......
If there was a doggy football kit we would have definitely nipped out and bought it 😂
Just back from seeing Disclosure Day. I have loved Spielberg's previous 'alien' films so was quite excited. Review - Emily Blunt, great performance. Colin Firth, miscast? It could have been cut by a good 45 minutes. All in all a bit, meh. It felt like it didn't coming to anything.
Spent the afternoon building a headboard (finally) after picking up some reclaimed wood. So now we can all sleep soundly without the fear of Stan falling down the back of the bed at 3am.
We went to a lovely tea garden for toasted tea cakes and a cuppa. A friendly little Robin joined us 😍
Tonight we went to a cider and cheese evening at our local cider farm. Feel very cheesy and quite sozzled 😁 lovely.
When we were in Totnes today we came across this in a side street, with the plaque above with an early 17th Century inscription. Below is a translation. Pretty cool for 13 years before the Mayflower set sail.
