Give them what they’re looking for. Which is, in fact, what we’re all looking for. Iowa’s problems are many – but solvable. We just need to elect people who want to solve them. You get a chance to do just that this November.
The IOWA DNR doesn’t think so. E-coli bacteria can cause gastroenteritis, prostate and bloodstream infections. Visit programs.iowadnr.gov/aquia/beache to make sure the beach you’re headed to is safe. And elect people who put water safety of every kind ahead of corporate profits.
This year's theme, "Miles of Memories," honors the people, places, and experiences that make Lost Nation such a special place to call home. From family-friendly activities and entertainment to the popular Car, Truck & Tractor Show and Outdoor Market, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Supporting local businesses keeps money in our community and strengthens neighborhood connections—unlike national chains and online giants that send profits elsewhere and whose basic connection to our community is a financial one.
National Barn Day is a time for folks across Iowa and America to celebrate an iconic symbol of rural America, as well as respect for the demanding work and perseverance of our farm families and keepers of tradition.

Fireworks, explosions, smoke and the smell of gunpowder can traumatize veterans with PTSD, forcing them to relive the wartime horrors they’ve tried to forget, causing panic attacks. So, have fun, celebrate, but please keep the well-being of the veterans in your neighborhood in mind.
From backyard BBQs to fireworks under the stars, choose union-made favorites for a holidays that celebrates us all. To be absolutely sure you’re having a Union-Made 4th, search here: labor411.org/listing-regi...

There are jobs – but no one to fill them. Young Iowans are leaving the state in droves and our population is ageing. No surprise that Iowa’s 49th among all states in economic growth. Too many of our government officials don’t seem to notice or care. It’s past time to elect people who do.

The “Big, Beautiful Bill” has some very ugly consequences. MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is closing its labor and delivery unit. Mothers will have to drive 40–60 miles to facilities for childbirth. And to think, Miller-Meeks, a doctor and a mother herself, voted for this.
Miller-Meeks voted to cripple FEMA in Iowa. She wasn’t thinking about displaced Iowa families, their shattered lives and their excruciating waits for housing and recovery aid. Well, in November, it’ll be our turn to vote. And we Iowans have long memories.
Too many of us are being forced to choose between buying groceries and filling up the tank. We’re cancelling doctor visits. Late paying our bills. We didn’t cause this mess. But it’s going to take us working together to clean it up. Start here docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
“War is Hell” on working families. The price of diesel is reaching its all-time high, and EVERYTHING transported by truck from warehouse to store is going to cost even more, more Iowans will lose their jobs and more Iowa businesses will go out of business.

Why do so many Iowans trade their civilian lives for military service? Because they believe in something bigger than themselves: Freedom. Rights. Democracy. When you vote, you’re honoring 26,600 Iowans who paid the ultimate price – to preserve our rights. We must not let them down.
June 2 is Primary Election Day. Too many Iowans stay home thinking their vote doesn't matter. Well, it matters. To our Democracy in general. And to the 175,000 Iowans who sacrificed and served so we have that right. Honor our patriotic sons and daughters, vote June 2.

We need people to represent us who think about consequences. Of imposing tariffs that come back to bite us in the wallet. Of how going to war drives up the cost to drive to work. And drives up the cost of groceries. We need people who think about consequences – and think about us.
Give ‘em a minute to set their bags down and grab something from the fridge. Then sit ‘em right down, and do Democracy a good deed sos.iowa.gov/voters/voter...
When kids learn to feel valued, how to cope and connect, they carry those strengths into adulthood. Republican budget cuts have left many children without critical support. Join us now to elect people who will restore the programs our children need.
