Sugar Bear would have been part of the QAnon Shaman wing of J6.

Reddit (Reddit!) successfully answers the question of why I've given up my calendar absolutist ways and leaned way into Fall Christmas this year (source is this thread: www.reddit.com/r/houston/co... )

Snippet of conversation between two Reddit commenters. u/raouldukesaccomplice says, "I've already seen: multiple houses with Christmas lights up and on; reindeer antlers and red noses on cars; and full roll-out of Christmas decor/merchandise in retail stores. Some of these things were already happening before Halloween.

"Is this some sort of coping mechanism to paper over social ills?

"Are people just deciding that Christmas is now a two-month holiday because the rest of the year has already sucked so badly?"

What they were looking at was a mystery, from a human perspective there was nothing exciting in that direction. Maybe the alligator was back in the pond....

In honor of #GuineaPigAppreciationDay, a detail from an 18th century French tapestry called "The Two Bulls" which according to the museum label was meant to represent nature and culture in NE Brazil, but a pig snuck in somehow. Wheek wheek!

A hunk of concrete riprap adjacent to Galveston Bay. It is festooned with whelk and moon snail shells, at least three of which are visibly home to hermit crabs.

I'm taking this test now (because I saw it in your post) and I have questions! Like, is this "defrosted pizza" meant to be cold and soggy, or is there an unspoken expectation that it was baked as per frozen pizza norms?

A question from the IDR Labs Food Choice Test. The illustrated item is a pizza (looks like pepperoni, tomato, and watermelon radish as toppings), and the question is "how much would you like to eat Defrosted Pizza" with an agree/disagree slider bar for answering.

These guys were fun to watch-- the one on the left was a little bit bigger and seemed more aggressive to me, but eventually ended up taking a flying leap into the bushes and abandoning the field. I clearly don't get green anole mojo.

I love DST. It was still light when I got off work-- headed to the park to see the sun set, and was rewarded with a sorely-needed hit of joy.
