The overhanging bushes on Bath Road near the War Memorial were forcing pedestrians near to the kerb and close to heavy traffic. Following our intervention, we are pleased to see the undergrowth has been cut back allowing safe passage for pedestrians.

In this 1 picture, there are 6 items of damaged street furniture, including two no entry signs, two bollards, a broken road name sign, which we reported several weeks ago, and a missing sign on the Bath Road central reservation.

We’ve also asked the Jeffrey Ross estate agency to come and collect their discarded sign on Conway Road.

Working with the council, the artists, and other local organisations, I am pleased I was able to help bring the exhibition to City Hall, particularly during Refugee Week. The last chance to see the exhibition is tomorrow.

I was delighted to attend the launch of the ‘Asylum: World in a Frame’ exhibition at City Hall today. I officially opened the one-day exhibition back in March at the M-Shed, but felt that it needed to be seen by more people.

‘Asylum: World in a Frame’ showcases powerful photographs & stories created by people seeking asylum in Bristol, offering a unique insight into daily life in temporary accommodation through their own eyes. The exhibition explores themes of wellbeing, identity, belonging and hope.

Having officially opened the one-day ‘Asylum: World in a Frame’ exhibition at the M-Shed in March, I was determined to bring this important exhibition to a wider audience. I am delighted to have helped facilitate a second public exhibition at City Hall during Refugee Week 2026.

Great to join residents, representatives from SNG Sovereign Network Group, and Bristol Waste for the launch of Waste Watchers. This initiative will hopefully encourage communities to become more proactive and informed around waste management and to take pride in where they live. ♻️

There’s a lot going on at next month’s Great Big Green Week! 👀

Thank you to everyone who came to our joint police and local councillor community surgery today. We had some really good conversations about local issues and the police told us it was the best surgery they’d had. We will organise another session soon. Thanks also to Dunelm for kindly hosting us.

Sadly, a dead cherry tree and Norway maple need to be removed from Arnos Court Park shortly. A hornbeam has been suggested as a suitable replacement for the Norway maple as they are native trees, long lived, large in stature and inherently disease free.

The graffiti has been painted over, windows boarded up, vegetation cut back, and scaffolding put in place to repair the roof. We have also requested the removal of accumulated fly tipped rubbish.

Good to see some maintenance work at the White Hart in Brislington Village. Recently met with developers to express frustration with the neglect of the site including: 🎨 unsightly graffiti 👮 lack of security and monitoring 🌳 undergrowth blocking pavements 🚧 broken windows and roof tiles
