Houston-based Journalist & Science Fiction Author. Life is a lease, negotiate well. Aggies. Arsenal. Astros.
Where to begin? Poor characterization, terrible dialogue, wonky narrative structure and prose that can’t be improved with translation. This is cosmic horror masquerading as science fiction. I’m surprised how much I did not enjoy this story.
When people ask me what I’ve been up to, this is what I think of, but I can’t say that.
Foundational Sci-fi. The rise of cyberpunk, Night City, the birth of cyberspace, and the matrix. A prescient vision of our digital future.
The birth of an iconic character. Geralt and the world of monsters he inhabits is endlessly fascinating. Equal parts action, intrigue and humor. A must read for fans of the games or series.
Taco Bell didn’t grow the diarrhea lettuce! They’re innocent. Repost this flag if you Back the Baja #ThinDewLine
Too many characters to develop well and an underdeveloped premise told at a glacial pace. Easy read tho. Just not my style.
A breathtaking journey through the depravity and desolation of the American west once defined by violence and devoid of heroes. An extraordinary showcase of American literature.
The gold standard of science fiction. Compelling characters, great settings, an intriguing mystery and plenty of action. Having seen The Expanse, I’m surprised how quickly I ate this up.
Every hometown’s got the ominous megastructure. What’s yours? Raytheon testing tower
Quick. Easy. Funny. Closer to a good comic than great literature. Best read near a body of water.
A cyberpunk masterpiece with such a vivid depiction of a world taken over by nihilism and greed. When hope costs you everything, are you willing to pay the price?
Found this DnD figure at the Arsenal pub in Houston. I have dubbed him Bukayo Declan Saliba. A totem.
Watched the Astros at grandma’s house. She took out my great grandfather’s 1926 scrap book he made of his volunteer minor league team in Kentucky. What a special look into family history. The lesson: hang out with you grandparents when you can.
My mom has a Christmas tree up year round that she decorates for the various holidays. Ever seen a Memorial Day/July 4th Christmas tree?
I want the gunners Guinness pint glass they have at the stadium so bad.
Disclaimer: For professionalism, I’m going to stop giving other authors a number rating. Funny read. Great characters. Undeveloped premise. A perfect pool read for the summer.
