Yes, it's me, the same Chris Neville-Smith. Looks like Theatre Twitter is preparing to regroup here, so hello everybody. Theatre projects: Theatre blog:
This scorched earth will be in plain sight of everyone at Edinburgh Fringe. Expect this to be talked about a lot. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
If I'd know Carry On-style innuendo got laughs this easily I'd have done it more often. Thanks Royce @buxtonfringe.bsky.social for probably the best description of It's Not Cluedo I've seen. (Premalink: buxtonfringe.org.uk/reviews2026c...)
Polis scoops this for his outstanding performance as a film mogul whose motives start unclear, but you can tell from the outset is able to get away with anything. Two more performances as @undergroundvenues.bsky.social on 13th and 20th July. @buxtonfringe.bsky.social
IT'S NOT CLUEDO needs YOU-DO! If performing at @buxtonfringe.bsky.social , I'd love to have you as a guest on the show. No preparation needed, just willingness to go along with it And if you want to show off a part of your show, I might be able to work it in. Reply here or DM if interested.
This is going to be a strange one to explain in future Political Studies lectures.
Our thoughts are with the Scarborough locals near Peasholm Park at this difficult time.
NEW PLAY ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! I am bringing to @buxtonfringe.bsky.social and @durhamfreefringe.bsky.social an adaptation of @johnofarrell.bsky.social's wonderful novel This Is Your Life. Prepare for the amazingly untrue story of comedy legend Jimmy Conway. chrisnevillesmith.info/wp/2026/07/0...
Better photos to follow, but this is the lighting design I was doing on Friday.

Okay, we have word on what Alphabetti's reset period looks like (via insta): Private hires is the new bit of news. What's of more interest is what "artist development opportunities" entails. A lot of possibilities there.
We don't usually see each other's header images. Here's mine.
Is it just me, or does this look like getting the excuses in early?
Hey, Greene King, signed up for your wi-fi and got this message. I'm not any of these things, I'm a sad bastard with no mates. This is discrimination against sad bastards with no mates.
Late to the party, but Ensemble 84 are running their new production of Hamlet in their home at Horden until Saturday. Probably will make its may to Live Theatre at some point, but I really like their imagining for the setting of Mother Courage last year.

STARTING TOMORROW! "I am not a bad person ... But when all the things I do are bad, what different does one more bad thing make?" DOCTOR COPPELIUS, where the villain from Coppelia tells his side of the story. Fri 5.30, Sat 2.30, Sun 5.30, Rotunda Pip. Tix: www.rotundatheatre.com/Event/doctor...
First sighting of Spiegelgardens, which I can now safely say - at least from a customer perspective - is Spiegeltent in everything but name.
The new Front of House at Wagner Hall. Someone is serious about making this a venue in its own right.
Was a little bit tempted by this fabulous little number, but decided to stick with the shirt and trousers.
