Wise to the idea of the veil of ignorance.
It's a perspective thing, I suppose. It certainly wasn't proofread.
This is one of the reasons the modern right are getting so successful - because they lie and say all the wrong things, and behaving like that makes them seem more "real"... more like "us" - the more the "us" are ill-educated and crushed by the system, the more they'll be in thrall to the right.
The entire function of creeps like her is to expand the Overton window to the right.
It's certainly true that a lack of education can lead to people being easier to manipulate by the dark forces who would rule over them.
If you want them to keep voting Republican you need to keep 'em dumb.
Owen Jones - classic Oxbridge chin-stroking weasel, quick to reframe any recent event as proof of their previously held prejudices. Burnham won because a good swathe of the electorate are sick of mainstream politics and use any chance they get to give the smuggerati a slap upside the head.
Another reason people are affronted by and rejecting Labour... who conspired to get Brexit done when the dismal Corbyn and his creepy consigliere Seamus Milne were in charge, deluded with the obnoxious notion they could inherit a blank slate UK come the glorious day.
The tide is not a great analogy for progress. The tide is just cyclical. And it's already a used up and hollowed out meme made famous by moron Bill.
I've been a member of several campaigning organisations - the same range of characters with the same range of motivations crop up in all of them.
Hilarious how you all think this is about trans rights, which I never mentioned. I'm talking about winning power through being agreeable - or not winning it through being as disagreeable as all the other parties. But you insist on being disagreeable, even with opinions I don't even have.
Innit tho. In fact your "from the Greek" is a pretty close guess!
All these people who think our society's obnoxious level of inequality is not a prime Green issue are just not paying proper attention.
There's always money for war. And if there isn't, they'll borrow it.
