She already knew the answer.

"Let's go home, Ilma," Augustus said. "Dani's waiting for us. I'm so proud of what we've made together, my darling."

"NO!" she screamed, loud enough that she hoped someone, anyone heard her. "I'll not let you! Never! Not to me, and certainly not to him!" She pushed herself up from the window, and stormed up to him despite the terror clawing up her nerves. "You're going to pay for this, all of it!"

"Listen to me," he said softly. "I only want what's best for you. For our son. For our family. Please, Ilma — don't be so upset."

"Are you crazy?!" Ilma shouted. "Our entire marriage is a lie! I will never, EVER forgive you! When Chris—"

"Chris isn't coming back, dear," he said. "My men will make sure of that."

A soft gasp escaped between Ilma's parted lips; she stared at Augustus for so long, studying every detail of his face. She knew every inch of him so well. She loved him so much.

She was so, so terrified of him."

"Augustus grunted as Ilma shoved him, and made way to bolt for the stairs; she didn't get far, before his arm latched around her own. "Ilma—"

"Get off me!" She struggled in his grasp, but the gear he had donned made it impossible for her to land a hit.

"Dear, I need you to stop—"

She pushed her full weight forward, and finally broke free from his grasp; her momentum carried her down onto the floor. Ilma crawled away from him as fast as she could, before staggering up onto her legs; lightning flashed in the window behind her, painting the hall in shadow for a brief moment. "I'll never go anywhere with you," she spat. "I'd sooner die."

Augustus' face was nearly blank, his body so stiff. Slowly, he sighed. "I understand."

He drew a gun from his hip.

"I want you to know, I really did love you."

And he fired. "

"Ilma stumbled, just as the glass behind her shattered; for a moment, she was nearly convinced that the bullet had missed her. Then she felt the moisture pooling in her chest, and brought up her hands to see the blood that now stained them. Her blood.

"Augustus—" she choked; the room spun, Augustus' face distorted as if she were drunk, and she stepped back, back. She wasn't dead, she wasn't dead, she wasn't—

Her legs tipped over the window sill, the shattered glass cutting through her clothes as the open air embraced her. In one moment, she was apart of the falling rain.

And in the next, her body landed hard against something sharp; she didn't have to look down to see it, she only had to look forward. She brought up her hands as she stared vacantly at the wrought iron fence post that now stuck up out of her chest. She gasped for air until it became a choke, as blood poured up her throat and out of her mouth; the window above was vacant. Augustus wouldn't watch her die. It would hurt him too much, she thought.

Ilma Kapetanović's head reeled back, and her glasses fell into the grass. Her body went limp a few moments later, and the light from her eyes a few moments after that.

This life had finally reached its bitter, lonely end. "

it is the "down with cis bus" post from tumblr, with Gaius from FFXIV behind it. The text reads as the following:
"Here’s a thing that happened to one of my friends. I was there.

Basically, we were walking down the sidewalk, talking about something meaningless. I think it had to do with a movie. Then this bus screeches up, stops next to us, and a bunch of people with “Down with Cis” shirts climbed out and started beating him up. I was punched and kicked a bit too, but I managed to avoid brutalization by going for their faces. After figuring out what’s happening, I started attacking them back, getting them off of him. He was quite injured but I called 911 and he made a full recovery at the hospital. I was fine, with only a cut on my arm that they patched up."
