It's weird that the Marvel Set adds a bunch of Nazis to Magic the Gathering. I think it's bad that you can pick your favorite fake Nazi and make a Nazi Commander Deck. (Don't explain to me that Hydra and Nazis are technically different. c'mon.)

Went to the Henry Ford Museum DaVinci Inventions Exhibit. I knew about him as an artist but didn't realize how much innovation he had made in the art of the Doohickey.

To invent this, Davinci surely asked himself "What if a cart had 8 cannons fanned out on top of it like a wedge." It is a Gun Cart that surely takes 20 minutes to reload.

This whole game is inspired by an older hack of Blades titled Rockets Underground, and it's been a lot of fun adapting those rules to a newer framework and building it out with a full setting guide and expanded rules like advancement. Surprisingly, Legends Z-A cracked the setting & factions for me.

Goldenrod’s Law and Order:
-The Mayoral Office, which is the executive branch of Goldenrod’s government and rules over
the city. The current mayor is typically thought of to be well mannered and good natured, with
the good living of his citizens in mind. This has led to a strong working relationship with the
Pokémon League International and Quesartico Inc., to whom they have awarded many big city
contracts.
-The Pokémon League International, which manages Pokémon trainers and the legality of
Pokémon battles through the Gym System and maintains things like permits for Pokémon
breeding centers and Pokémon-centered businesses. They regulate pokeballs and oversee
Pokémon ownership and trade through their digital Pokémon registration system. Their Johto
headquarters is in the GTS and is overseen by Karen of the Elite 4.
-The Jennies, who serve as the city’s police force. They patrol the streets, encourage
compliance with the law, capture offenders, and operate Goldenrod Penitentiary past the
Stadium District. They are overseen by Chief Officer Jenny and her noble Arcanine.
-The Normies, who are Whitney’s gym trainers. Originally started with all female members, the
organization has since diversified and grown in number. This is a direct action group who are
dedicated to keeping their streets safe. They do not have direct police or Pokémon League
authority, but are seen as community leaders and held in high regard. Led and collected loosely
by Whitney, but she’s not a street activist herself–her second in command Reggie tends to
ultimately call the shots for the group.
-Quesartico Inc, an international tech firm receiving regular government contracts for city
revitalization. The Goldenrod branch is led by Vinnie and has been setting up Wild Zones and
Battle Areas in town. It has not been going as smoothly in Goldenrod as it did in Kalos.

Goldenrod’s Illegality and Disorder:
-Team Rocket, who have been beaten back twice and are now looking to rebuild for a third
time. They have a legacy name, experience, and institutional support behind them; now they
just need to figure out how to get out from the shadows of their defeats.
-The Goldenrod Underground, Goldenrod’s undercity in which many legitimate and
slightly-less-than-legitimate businesses thrive. A loose connection of shady landlords and
assorted fronts who always seem to have the paperwork they need to justify their businesses.
-The Gligar Gang, a criminal element that seems to have sprung up lately. They seem to be
focused on property damage, which has cleared the way for Quesartico to swoop in and clean
up land in the neighborhoods they’ve targeted on North Route 35.
-Someone Or Something Who Is Breaking Up Rocket Teams, who is someone or something
that has been breaking up Rocket Teams. Team Rocket does not have much intel on them
except for the fact that they seem to have a body count and a grudge.
Other Notable Groups:
-The Staff of the Goldenrod Frequency, Journalists turned Information brokers who collect
information in the shadows of Goldenrod City. The staff of the Frequency hold themselves to a
high standard of integrity in finding the truth and protecting sources, but hard times
can cause anyone’s tongue to loosen. They got big surges in readership covering the Rocket
Busts years ago–how far might they go if they hear the team starting to bounce
back?
-PokeJobs™
, a tech startup focused on implementing borrowed Pokémon labor at scale. They currently have 2 major operations. The first is their Pokémon Gig Work-focused jobs initiative,
where Pokémon trainers can lend their Pokémon out to do jobs to earn money. The second is a
newer “Green Energy” initiative, where they’re developing battery hubs based around
using Pokémon moves to generate energy. There are whispers about the overlap
between their tech and Rocket’s old infrastructure.

I'm not quite ready to make the full playtest document public, but I have a big update for anyone who's been piecing together my cryptic hints about upcoming projects. I'm currently working on a hack-of-a-hack called NASTY PLOTS: ROCKETS UNDERGROUND, a Team Rocket themed Blades in the Dark hack.

A list of Character Playbooks and Standard Issue Pokemon for Rockets Underground.
Playbooks are The Charmer, The Adept, The Athlete, The Scrapper, The Fiddler, and The Creator. Pokemon are Zubat, Magnemite, Ekans, Koffing, Rattata, Spinarak, Grimer, Houndour, Drowzee, Meowth, and Spearow.

At the end of each scheme, during the debrief, each grunt takes a turn to ask themselves the
following questions. For each of the questions you answer affirmatively, you can choose to mark
a Playbook EXP or an Attribute EXP. The questions are:
During today's session, did I:

Protect the world from Devastation (perform an action that protected a member of
your squad or team rocket as a whole)?

Unite all peoples within our nation (perform an action that brought your squad closer
together)?

Denounce the Evils of Truth and Love (perform an act of villainy or thuggery that you
wouldn't want your loved ones to know about)?
●
Extend our reach to the stars above (perform an action that furthers Team Rocket's
overall agenda and aid them in achieving the score)?
When you fill an EXP track, clear all the marks and take an advance.
