Kinda funny that part 24 minutes it spent “thinking” to produce the proof was building a twitter scraper specifically to fetch this exact tweet
It seems that Christopher Long on X had already found a proof of this conjecture using ChatGPT days before. I imagine this may have had something to do with why ChatGPT nominated this one as within reach.
I suppose I’d have to see the videos in question. I’m just responding to what I’m seeing in the shared screenshots. These are claims not about lived experience but about empirical statistics.
Deleted because it came off too dunk-ish when it wasn’t meant to and I reserve dunks for people who I feel are saying something silly and I think this isn’t silly and ultimately it all depends on what “engine” means which I don’t know
if your argument is this Cobb-Douglas thing, why "roughly a 1 in 3 chance"? Seems like it should be 100%; it's not like the Cobb-Douglas Production Function has "roughly a 1 in 3 chance" of having a negative second derivative
It's so funny to be like "if AI takes all human jobs then wages will fall. Why, you might ask? Well, consider that the Cobb Douglas Production function has a negative second partial derivative wrt L" like you're hiding the babybrainiest take in fake math that gives you no extra insights whatsoever
one funny thing in this Pew report on Americans' AI usage is that respondents are more likely to predict AI will have a negative impact than a positive impact, but when you ask them how it impacts them personally across different areas, each area tilts positive, mostly by a lot
perhaps worth pointing out that the other 84% don't all say it will have a negative impact on society. The plurality of people either believe it will be neutral, or are not sure.
I was excited to try this because I have yet to come across a real false positive from Pangram but I am disappointed to report that I can’t reproduce it.
