We had a half-hour stop in San Luis Obispo. Got to stretch my legs and check out the pedestrian infrastructure for crossing the tracks.

This weekend the @CirculateSD hosted our annual board and staff retreat. We got a tour of the North City development between CSU San Marcos and the NCTD Sprinter station. It's a beautiful ground-up community, building a new downtown from scratch.

Chili crisp and sweet jalapeno hot dogs. It was great, (and I'm feeling like a mad scientist).
Finally finished Arbitrary Lines by @mnolangray. It's a thoughtful and comprehensive criticism of zoning policy. My only critique is that he didn't narrate the audiobook himself.
Our country is an incredible idea, that we can decide for ourselves how to create a more perfect union. We have worked on that for 250 years, and we will strive for, argue about, and reimagine our better selves for the next 250.

On full tourist mode. Took the acclaimed Chicago architecture boat tour.
Followed the signs for the Great Hall in Chicago's Union Station. Was not disappointed.
Headed to a conference on transportation infrastructure, but storms in Chicago detoured my flight over to St. Louis. Hopped on an Amtrak for the final leg. (Infrastructure!) Hope the train is more storm resilient. ⛈️🚆✈️
Enjoyed talking to the campaign interns with Rep. Scott Peters today. Lots of future campaign managers and city council members!
