finally found the perfect reference for little one’s 2-d halloween costume. haven’t had much luck finding this shirt, can anyone point me toward someone who could recreate it?
10: clay’s ark by octavia e. butler a wild ride start to finish and a departure from the previous books. i kept searching for threads tying back to earlier characters and plot points, which left me feeling a bit off-kilter the whole way through. curious how the series ends
9: mind of my mind by octavia e. butler having the story unfold from multiple perspectives offered an interesting take on the unreliable narrator. the ending felt rushed, while also making me want to get to the next book in the series as quickly as possible.
meal prepped my go-to savory oats, complete with cyclosporiasis-cautious mods i’m so back, baby 😂
the last four years have been the most challenging and rewarding of my career. i’m thankful for the families who entrusted me with their most precious gifts. my students have made me a better educator, leader, & person.
had my students write letters to their future selves the summer going into their freshman year and the time has come to return them 🥹
my baby graduated from pre-k today, and i’m so eternally grateful for the early childhood educators who show up and pour into little ones every single day
8: wildseed by octavia e. butler completely immersed in this story from the very first pages. the characters, especially anyanwu and doro, are haunting in the best possible way. its themes of loneliness, power, and how we choose to use our gifts have lingered with me days after finishing.
these little charms are a pain to put on but they’re are so stinkin’ cute
to be raised in a matriarchal home is to witness kindness and love as the foundation from which all strength flows. these women held everything together while standing fully in their power, and they did it all with a grace that seemed effortless. happy mother’s day to the women who shaped me 💐
wasn’t prepared for the tony trailer to make me emotional yet here i am 🥺
couldn’t stay for boys varsity volleyball senior night but had to drop off a rose for my one student on the team
