More art waffle - really big fan of John Austen's work for Hamlet 1922. Delicious compositions all around; fluid gestures, intense shadow inks, and the imagery so thoughtfully constructed - it all oozes drama. Honestly prefer him over Beardsley in this era imo

Also shout out to Grimshaw for being a fellow Arthurian nerd naming his kids after medlit characters and painting at least 3 versions of Lady of Shallot/Elaine of Astolat, never let anyone stop you drawing the same thing over and over again

John Atkinson Grimshaw is another favourite for enviros. I grew up in or adjacent to a lot of industrial towns so I have a bias for the subject matter lol. Much the other side of the spectrum to Turner - that muggy air he's painted feels so real and damp, and he paints the afterglow of rain so well

I don't have a huge catalogue of artists I enjoy specifically for their enviro/landscape works but as classic artists go I do have a big fondness for Turner. His paintings have this wonderful, hazy, pearlescent look to them that captures what a half remembered dream or nightmare looks like to me

Morgause is a heavily greying redhead, hair decorated in braids and flushed skin adorned with ornaments like pearls on her necklace and earings. Morgan on the other hand is a gaunt lady dressed in black, with a loose, high, black ponytail streaked with grey. The pink of her collar gem and in her eyes are her only pops of saturated colour.

New design for Mordred | #kamd #art #ocsky

A character design for Mordred (OC based on Arthurian legend), a pale haired man in dark armour with purple tones and shades, highlighted at the joints in silver and topped off with leather accents. A glowing, pink crack seems to cut across his breastplate, and a hastily made knot of fabric and chains has been drawn over to cover it. In his hands he carries a pale blue sword, with a red, rusting, gnarled tip.
