29.07 #BurkinaFaso JNIM has issued a communique that ist seized 03 militia positions in the North of the country close to the Malian border at Dim, Yabonsgo and Ouahigouya.
Amnesty USA calling for a war crime investigation into the killing of 19 Malian soldiers in the Gao region an area where the Security Forces / Africa Corps are infamous for the indiscrimate murder of civilians yet I can't recall any calls for investigation for those. www.reuters.com/world/africa...

JNIM has posted more images of captured material from the fighting around Niono very interestingly including this motorcycle with a Sonnenrad - "Black Sun" design. The symbol originated in Nazi Germany during the 1930s & often used by neo-Nazi groups. (one for you @jamesstout.bsky.social )
29.07 / 30.07 There's been reports of drone strikes overnight in the Intahaka area North East of Gao, casualties are un-confirmed with some commentators stating that civilians killed were mostly migrant artisanal miners. This was the case in July 2024 when strikes were carried out on the same area.

#Algeria 27.07 Security Forces killed 02 terrorists during operations in the Chelf area, west of yhr capital Algiers DJLLIDI Ali, alias "Tarek," emir of the so-called Bouaarous group, who joined terrorist groups in 2012; BAKHTOUCHI Mohamed, alias "Isshak," who joined terrorist groups in 2014.

#Mali 28.07 The Security Forces issued a statement that it had targeted two pickup trucks and a group near Dagobory.
#Mali 28.07 There's been reports of civilians being killed by Dozo tribal militia and Security Forces against the local Fulani tribe in Djenne in reprisal for the killings of militia by JNIM. Militia & Security Forces have carried out a number of massacres of civilians in the past.

#BurkinaFaso 27.07 JNIM fighters took control of Soubeira-Natenga (90kms from the capital) looting business's and houses but no loss of life has been reported. While the government continues to claim to be in control of 75% of the country they're clearly not.
France is currently retasking one of it's MQ-9 Reaper drones to support of wildfire response operations in the Gironde region enabling continuous, real-time fire surveillance in coordination with ground firefighting crews, both day and night, including in smoke-obscured conditions.

Africa Corps mercenaries involved in heavy fighting with JNIM close to the village of Hadj Wéré, north of Niono. JNIM has stated that they were sucessful in pushing back the Security Forces / Africa Corps operation. JNIM videos showed abandoned motorcycles & an armored as well as evidence of blood.
#Mali 26.07 Security Forces have announced that 11 militants were killed and weapons, ammunition other equipment was seized following fighting in the Daba Camp area of the Ségou region. 27.06 In the Boulkessi area a JNIM-FLA camp was destroyed. Operations are ongoing in the Niono & Kongodiani area
#Mali 27.07 In its continued harrasment of the Security Forces / Africa Corps convoy JNIM targeted another vehicle with an IED between Hombori and Gossi.
#Mali 25.07 Security Forces announced that they killed several terrorists involved in an attack on Tongolo-Koura village in Niono area. JNIM-FLA positions & their logistics in Kidal region along with an armed pickup truck were destroyed. Several terrorists outskirts of Diabaly were also killed.
#Mali 26.07 JNIM carried out an IED attack on Security Forces convoy between Tini and Wami and and a truck between Niafunke and Tonka. The group also repelled a Security Forces - Africa Corps advance north of Niono.
#Niger 26.07 JNIM issued a claim that they ambushed fighters from IS-SP near Sambera (20kms from the border with Benin) in the Dosso Region.

The convoy is currently at Agoufou having been repeadtly targeted between Wami & Hombori by JNIM with a mortar barrage & drone attack. At least 15 vehicles have been reportedly destroyed & casualties are reportedly high among the Malian and Africa Corps personnel.
#Mali 25.07 A Russian resupply convoy of replacement vehicles including BMP-2's, BMP-3's, BTR-82's, 14 MRAP type vehicles along with trucks & anti-aircraft systems left the port of Lomé in Togo on the 23.07 arrived in Bamako.
