Reminds me of Canadian Oil & Gas sector. They tout all the jobs, jobs, JOBS! It's now an article of faith in Alberta that O&G employ everyone. Not any more. Oil is largely automated. And what did we get in return? Petro Provinces and climate change. Sold our soul for conservative magic beans.

Don't forget that it was InDePEndEnT. You couldn't FIND a Bush supporter anymore, and suddenly the Tea Bag Party was full to bursting with "Independents". Similar now in Canada - cons are so ashamed of Pierre Poilievre they throw up their hands and say, "all politicians are corrupt!" 🙄

So jealous! I'm now all-digital out of necessity, since I've moved every couple years most of my life. I remember especially Shockwave's chapter introductory quotations. First time I'd seen that and they gave such context to very confusing material. This was the cover of the one I read.

Overfishing kills me because properly managed, fishing can be the gift that gives forever. It is the magic of compound interest - just fish less than the break-even point! But we NEED to solve the Tail of the Bank problem. Norway & Japan hoovered the GB dry decades ago. I wish the mission success!
