Dare to Struggle Austin also has said that it and Families Demanding Justice are the only local groups working with the Williams family, and that others are just want to use Anthoneil's death to advance their own agendas.

Their slogan -- "jail killer cops" -- is a demand they're bringing to Travis County District Attorney José Garza, who will decide whether the officers are prosecuted.

"That is the number one demand that we hear them voice," Herrera said. "They want some sort of justice in the now. They want to feel like there are going to be some consequences put on police officers that commit atrocities."

KXAN asked APD for comment about the "jail killer cops" demand.

Here's the info about the Detrans clinic:

Detransition Clinic. TCH shall establish the Detransition Clinic within ninety (90)
days of the Effective Date. The Detransition Clinic will provide detransition-related
medical care to patients up to and including the age of 21 who have received SexRejecting Procedures. The Detransition Clinic shall further provide detransition-related
obstetrician-gynecology medical care to patients above the age of 21 who have received
Sex-Rejecting Procedures. All care provided through the Detransition Clinic shall be
within the scope of the providers’ credentials and TCH’s applicable malpractice
insurance. In furtherance of the Detransition Clinic, TCH shall ensure that services
rendered through the clinic are provided at no cost to patients for a period of five (5)
years. As part of its initiation and establishment of the Detransition Clinic, TCH must:
i. Provide multidisciplinary services, but not limited to, Endocrinology,
Surgery, Primary Care, Fertility Counseling, Psychiatry,
Psychotherapy, Social Work/Case Management (to include navigation
of insurance, legal name changes, patient navigator role to coordinate
across departments), and Speech Pathology;
ii. Create and maintain an easily accessible landing page on TCH’s website
describing the Detransition Clinic’s services;
iii. Require that the Medical Director of the Detransition Clinic report
directly to the Chief Compliance Officer;
iv. Include the “Detransition Clinic” as a specific gift designation on TCH’s
Giving webpage;
v. Use funds donated to TCH designated for the TCH Detransition Clinic
to fund free Detransition services past the initial 5-year term.

The judge said that the jurors wouldn't be paid for weekends or holidays. Why? She didn't say. www.kxan.com/news/local/t...

This works out to $26,700 per juror, according to the judge; a combined $373,800 for the 12 jurors and two alternates.

Sage didn’t say how holidays and weekends were different from the 456 unattended workdays.

Beyond the five court days, the jurors’ “public service” appears to have been checking for a call or text, and “maintain[ing] their impartiality” on non-trial days. They were prohibited from discussing the case, learning about those involved, and reading or watching news reports about it; such an instruction doesn’t vanish on weekends and holidays.

While most U.S. courts do not typically meet on weekend days or holidays, Texas criminal court judges can and have ordered trials proceed into weekends, such as in the June trial of Karmelo Anthony.

Had Sage included holidays and weekends, the hypothetical total for 700 days would be $40,562 per juror, or $567,868 combined.

AI is driving society insane. I avoid using AI chatbots, but I wanted to see how a claim like this spreads. So, I asked Google's AI, "is the mcconnell photo from 2023" and it said yes. I asked if it could find where the photo was posted in 2023. It couldn't, and said it was "newly taken."

Google AI says "Therefore, the photo in question appears to be an older picture from 2023 that has been misrepresented as new."
I ask it to cite a source.

Broadly speaking, sure; but the bans didn't apply to trans men, the legal cases weren't about them, and the court's opinion does not mention them (except for the screengrab below). Any impact felt by trans men from this is a byproduct of transmisogyny, which has drenched every step of this process.

"Pray away the gay" didn't work for Tim Schraeder Rodriguez, but it did give him "shame, suicidal tendencies, depression, anxiety." Maybe remarkably, he still has his faith:

The "most devastating" part of conversion therapy for Rodriguez was how it "forces" people to choose between their faith and their queerness.

Leaving allowed him to keep both. In the time since then, he co-founded Church Clarity, a website for LGBTQ+ people seeking affirming faith communities.

"I was fortunate to find my way into faith communities that are LGBTQ affirming, where I could continue to hold on to the faith that was very important to me, but also come as my full self, come as I am, and realize that I was loved just as I am," he said.

Grace Carol Brown is held under a $50k bond at the Comal County jail for a felony charge of terrorism. The court has granted her a personal recognizance bond on the two other felony charges that have been brought against her:
