"Through friendship, we don’t just cope with the world as it is - we begin to shape the world as it could be." - United Nations We're a small team of volunteers (friends now), bound by shared trauma, trying to shape how our UK Covid dead are honoured and remembered. ❤️ #InternationalFriendshipDay
Today, two of our volunteers were at Delamere Forest taking part in a workshop on Covid Commemorative Spaces. A range of parties are involved, including DCMS, bereaved groups, and other commemoration stakeholders. We will never forget. ❤️
Restoring faded hearts at the Wall. #TransformationTuesday We will never forget them. ❤️
On Bagpipe Appreciation Day, we're remembering this amazing piper from our anniversary event last year. We will never forget our beloved lost. ❤️ #BagpipeAppreciationDay
Several of the volunteers are keen gardeners. ❤️
A perfect day for painting! One of the volunteers has thoughtfully brought refreshments... ❤️
Because of the heat, the volunteers will not be working at the Wall today. We're longing for cooler weather! ❤️
One of our volunteers left this beautiful tribute for his wife on her birthday. We will never forget them. ❤️
The Wall looking splendid on a sunny day. ❤️
Our little team of volunteers has a new member - welcome, Charlene! ❤️
The volunteers were back at work today... ❤️
This little visitor was a sweet reminder as one of our volunteers said goodbye to her close friend at his funeral yesterday: Love is always near. ❤️
One of the volunteers is on holiday in Dorset and sent us this picture. Our memorial is made from this Portland stone - a beautiful connection between the rugged Jurassic Coast and our national place of reflection and remembrance. Dorset stone holding the grief of the covid bereaved. ❤️
A walk along our beautiful wall on a very hot day. ❤️
Due to the severe high temperature warning in London, the volunteers will not be at the wall today. We'll be back next week as usual, restoring hearts and writing dedications. Stay safe. ❤️
A night time visit to the wall last year... #ThrowbackThursday
'No matter how old we are, we still need our dads, and wonder how we’ll get by without them.' (Jennifer Williamson) Thinking of everyone missing their father today, and remembering fathers who have lost their children. We will never forget. ❤️ #FathersDay
One of the saddest tasks for the volunteers is restoring dedications on the children's panel. 💔
It's hard to believe it's been a year since we became a registered charity. We've come so far - but there's still so much more to do as we work toward our memorial's permanence. We will never forget our beloved dead. ❤️
Restoring faded hearts is just one the things volunteers do. ❤️ #TransformationTuesday
"I went down to London to paint my partner's name and lots of hearts. It was a beautiful, calm, therapeutic day. I could hear people commenting as they walked past. It is such a powerful representation of the lives lost. Each heart represents so many broken hearts." ❤️ #MondayMotivation
The new brushes are working well. That's a beautiful heart! ❤️🖌
