I’m trying to book a hotel for a trip to Pittsburgh in a few weeks and saw this one hotel had decent reviews so I clicked on them and, well…
I’ve been to this breakfast sandwich place about a hundred times and never noticed the name of the spa next door until just now and…what
One of the perks of my job? Being able to text Kyle Hewitt, one of the best golf bettors I’ve ever met, for a quick couple of bets
Wickles sandwich spread, which is like a pepper relish, and banana peppers. It’s the best.
My hometown gets a (misspelled, alas) shoutout here thanks to John LeClair. When he was traded to Philly, the town flipped from Canadiens jerseys to Flyers jerseys in a heartbeat.
Close to a monster week. I’ll take it, my best core of the year. Onward!
nobody has earned this bourbon more than a father the day before Father’s Day after shepherding his kids through a vacation spanning two countries and more money than I care to count. There might be two of these.
Oh not at all, I was just joking. I stupidly scheduled a vacation for US Open weekend so I’ve been trying to catch shots between doing things with family and visiting my new niece! (But my bets are dead haha) I’ve enjoyed the little I’ve been able to watch! The course looks incredible.
It became clear that none of my golfers are winning this so I went to a minor league baseball game. Go Vermont Lake Monsters!
US Open weather forecast for to tomorrow: Still breezy with some gusty winds — FWIW 15mph isn’t nothing — but it’s pretty consistent for everyone, not much of an edge aside from a brief midday window but that’s asking a lot. Greens are slow and being watered. Expect more of the same today.
also bought some local merch. 12 year old me would be so excited right now
Ever seen a grown man shell out $1,000 to cry at a regular season hockey game? Stay tuned!
Andy Lack is at Shinnecock today and he sent me these photos (and a couple videos below as well) of Tuesday’s US Open prep. One note he made is that the fescue is very patchy, which is making for uneven lies; it makes the bad miss a bit more of a luck proposition.
Here's ISN's schedule this week -- there's SO much great content. Andy Lack's conversation with Brendan Porath from @thefriedegg.bsky.social was excellent, I highly recommend it. Some great discussion about club selection and course strategy, recent form, and course expectations.
