Thoroughly enjoyed Luminous by @silviapark.bsky.social I look forward to reading more from this author. An impressive debut novel.
A Trade of Blood by @robertjbennett.bsky.social A book of the year contender. Definitely the best in the series so far; Ana and Din have worked their way into my top tier characters. Absolutely love this series!
I think I've seen this or something similar before, but worth sharing again because this is from 1995 🤯
Current reads... The Ace of Skulls by Chris Wooding The Tinder Box by M.R. Carey
Ferdi loves books too 😻📚 This coffee table is one of the best charity shop finds Mrs Bookwyrm has found. It even has a drawer that pulls out from the spine of the top book. The plan is to eventually paint this up with some of our favourite book titles. Neither of us are arty, so we'll see... 😆
Current read... Gogmagog by Jeff Noon and Steve Beard This one has me hooked from the start.
Favourite reads of 2026, so far... When There Are Wolves Again by @catamaroon.bsky.social Perdido Street Station by China Miéville I Hear a New World by Alan Moore Daughter of Crows by @marklawrenceauthor.bsky.social
Here are some excellent books I probably wouldn't have read if not for the recommendation/review of another author... thanks for the recs... @marklawrenceauthor.bsky.social @aptshadow.bsky.social @trnapper.bsky.social @robjhayes.bsky.social @emmanewman.bsky.social @mikesroberti.bsky.social
Currently reading... To Be Taught If Fortunate by Becky Chambers Dragonfly Falling by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Started When There Are Wolves Again by E.J. Swift today. Only two chapters in, a very promising start.
Next up... 📖 Mickey7 by Edward Ashton 🎧 The Iron Jackal by Chris Wooding
After listening to this month's episode of Starship Alexandria and hearing what @emmanewman.bsky.social will be recommending in next month's episode, I remembered I have this one on audio. So guess what I'm listening to? 😄
The Republic of Memory by @mahmudelsayed.bsky.social is a brilliant and bold debut. A richly woven, arab-centric, tapestry of life and politics aboard a generation ship I strongly recommend this to all speculative fiction readers who are looking for a fresh and innovative perspective.
Some inspiration from my infinite tbr. I wonder what my next read should be after Perdido Street Station 🤔
Starting my 30th book by @aptshadow.bsky.social (his first): Empire in Black and Gold.
I had a great time with Children of Strife by @aptshadow.bsky.social A brilliant and entertaining addition to this fascinating series.
Morning Womble 👋🏻 I have two books on the go at the moment: Retribution Falls by Chris Wooding is great fun so far. And some non-fiction with a collection of essays and poems from the Youth of Gaza, in We Are Not Numbers.
