Well, that's a new one for me. Inked up a new fountain pen and testing it out, as you do, and wanted to test out writing with the nib upside-down, just to be extra. And as I was writing, a flake of the nib plating came off. Like, uh, what?

Oh, how I miss slider keyboards! The Samsung feature phone with a slide out keyboard, back in the very early days of smartphones, was my first foray into texting and it was a joy compared to contemplating the attempt on a T9 numberpad. I still kinda miss that phone, not gonna lie.

Whelp, that's one shimmer experiment gone wrong. It's a shame, cuz I thought a bent nib would show off nicely, but... well. 😅 I'll have to try the same ink in my Kaküno, since that pen did well with the Colorverse shimmer. Might just end up dedicating one of my Pilots to sporkles. We'll see!

I find it hilarious that it may well be the largest pen in my collection. I think of click pens as small, but this one's on par with a TWSBI Eco or Jinhao X450. 😅 The nib is slightly tilted to the right. Presumably this is to get a good writing angle, but maybe not great for lefties?

I skip the converter on my Pilots, so I figured I'd do the same here and popped in a Pilot ink cartridge. If nothing else, their ink is always well behaved. Y'all, it writes beautifully. Smooth and easy. I used it last night, and this morning it was the same. No drying out so far.
