SHOP: www.cutemonsterprops.com I'm an SFX artist specializing in figurines, eSports trophies, and life-sized statues from the video games industry. By day I work for @volpinprops.com Host of Brainlords: brainlords.podbean.com Connoisseur of cute monsters.
I've been lucky to be able to work on a number of projects for Supergiant over the years and the Book of Rites has always been my favorite. Pyre, likewise, is still my favorite SG game.
You know where the cost of Cube Drafts isn't too high? With your local group! Ive been starting up a grassroots monthly meetup near Atlanta because the South deserves to have more access to a larger diy event. Feel free to message me for details or interest. #mtgcube
So what I've learned is that a good font will get you far. Inkscape if you need a vector program and PC name tag is a good service for the price. Honestly you don't need to be that clever, just a fun phrase since most folks in the Magic scene are pretty new to them.
I always forget just how much art I've done from the Sonic series but I'm happy for an excuse to share that.
Good luck to everyone at the Boston Cube Party this weekend! I hope the trophy makes it extra special and exciting, cube really is the best way to play.
Normally I keep track of the time on the different topics but when we reached "Share your favorite Video Game Manual" I just let us go on and on because it was so much fun describing why Pokemon and Earthbound and Katamari's user software manuals are such beautiful works of art.
Expedition 33 quietly replacing all its AI generated textures and Larian downplaying how much it wants to cut concept artists all so they don't have to make art like this. Generative AI is like lead exposure for your imagination, c'mon y'all, why are we making excuses for this?
"We have used such generative AI support tools during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour." This is literally placeholder art for Slay the Spire 2. If you need AI to generate ideas you're both lying and also genuinely stupid.
Because of my recent Shoebox Trophies Ollie over at Boston Cube Party approached me for something similar. It needed to be fast to design, simple, and iconic so I came up with a brass statue reminiscent of the Equestrian Statue of George Washington.
Meet Adora DiBere, the newest resident at East Virginia, an island resort for Cryptids. Does she really bring disaster and doom or is she taking all the blame for a life long bad luck streak? Find out more about the residents in my project: Mountain Mama Monsters! Art by @milkykau.bsky.social
That's right there's *gasp* lore! Another person I couldn't have done this without is @milkykau.bsky.social who provided art of the characters in their backstories. She helped really finalize their colors and voices. These postcards will also be available along with the kits.
None of this would have been possible without @remanance.bsky.social who took my concepts and edits and realized them in 3d. He has such a distinct and sexy style that was perfect for a unique but Monster Moko and Skullgirls influenced piece.
My cryptid figure project, Mountain Mama Monsters is finished in time for #Wonderfest at Momocon! I never thought I'd be able to attend a WonFest, let alone vend at one. These are my first original characters too so it would mean a lot if you could help me spread the word.
Mark is an amazing artist to work with. He was who made my Moth girl concept come to life and gave her a distinct style. Definitely recommend commissioning him.
Introducing Adora DiBere, the Misfortune Mothwoman! This is the second of my two cryptid girl statues for WonderFest. Does this unlucky office lady bring disaster or were the Startups designed to Shut down?
Working on my Cryptid girls figures for Wonderfest. It's leg day.
Are you going to Wonderfest at Momocon? I'll be debuting a series of cryptid girl statues, Mountain Mama Monsters, availabke as garage kits! This is Braxxie Fukushima, a Flatwoods Maiden and retired B-Movie A-Lister modeled by @remanance.bsky.social
Pests from Strixhaven made for Wizards of the Coast. I was lead on this project, working on everything from casting to cleanup and many, many hours of painting. Each terrarium has rubber glass for realistic water suspension.
Any time there's a big new video about Fear and Hunger I always see a spike in sales. I'm greatful for the F&H fans, y'all are literally paying my groceries. cutemonsterprops.com/products/fea...
Ori Staue by me, @storytellercosplay.bsky.social and modeled by Azure Props.
The Lucky Coin from the Fear and Hunger Series. I think there was a recent influx of fans from a big YouTube lore video so all I can say is thank you to all the folks helping pay my bills because they found their new favorite thing.
Yep! My first paper cube too lol. I lost most of my matches but I made a sweet blue deck with two mox, tinker, triplicate titan, ancestral recall and some other gas. Definitely the deep end but I felt accomplished that I could put something together.
