The Inquiry found £10 billion of pounds were spent on PPE that was unusable, unsuitable or ultimately unnecessary. That is difficult to read alongside memories of being told to stay away from others, pack a hospital bag, and plan your funeral. 8/

Many Clinically Vulnerable people spent years making impossible choices: • Attending medical appointments • Sending children to school • Going to work • Accepting care at home • Seeing loved ones The lack of availability of appropriate masks impacted their choices. 7/

The report, understandably, focuses on PPE for healthcare settings. It recognises PPE as protecting patients through protecting the workforce, but it does not meaningfully examine whether preparedness considered the needs of Clinically Vulnerable workers or patients. 6/

The report is unequivocal that many healthcare and social care workers were let down. They cared for patients while lacking adequate protection, often placing themselves and their own families at risk. Their experience deserves recognition. 3/

Module 5 focused on procurement – how PPE and other essential equipment were bought and supplied during the pandemic. It concluded there were serious failures in preparedness, stockpiling and emergency procurement. 2/

😷 We have read the UK Covid-19 Inquiry's Report on Procurement from the perspective of Clinically Vulnerable people and families. We were NOT Core Participants in this module, so many of our issues were outside the evidence heard and therefore not fully addressed. 1/🧵

🚨TODAY, the UK removed people aged 75–79 from routine Covid vaccine eligibility. While countries like Canada continue offering vaccines to higher-risk groups, the UK keeps narrowing access. Policy choices have consequences! #ClinicallyVulnerableAwarenessDay <19th July>

New DfE statutory guidance on allergy safety in schools states: "Clean air is a core asthma control measure. Good ventilation, air quality monitoring and supplemental HEPA air filtration are essential." Schools are now legally required to have regard to that. 2/

"But there's a health exemption, surely?" No. There's a health defence... and that is really not the same thing. * An exemption means you are protected. * A defence means you have already committed the offence - and you will have to justify yourself. 4/

What has changed: Before, wearing a mask wasn't an offence. You only broke the law if an officer told you to remove it and you refused. Now the *wearing itself* is the offence. Masking is the crime. 3/

The Crime and Policing Act 2026 (section 157) came into force on 29 June. Police can designate an area a "no-mask zone" for up to 24hrs around a protest. Wear anything that conceals your identity there - a protective respirator included - and you have committed an offence. 2/

💉Meningitis vaccines will be offered to y13s this summer. We welcome this news, but we question the lack of vaccines for current university students and young people. Halls are not the only transmission risk - as proven by the nightclub outbreak.

Ventilation also remained broadly positive. 🏫 80% of polling stations had at least one external door open. 📉 83% recorded CO₂ readings were below 800ppm. Clean air is an important part of accessibility. 7/

There were examples of supportive safe practice. Where voters requested an outdoor ID check, it was almost always granted (11 of 13) 13 others were safely ID checked with masks on - although it is against official guidance. 5/

"Forcing illness onto others by attending when sick should not be rewarded." 100% attendance awards also exclude children who are sick. But worse still, they encourage ALL children to come in unwell - spreading infections to the most vulnerable. 6/

"The premise behind attendance awards is not some exceptional skill, it is supposed to be accessible to ALL children-and yet it is completely inaccessible to some children who are disadvantaged by their health." It's not a fair competition when the finish line is unreachable. 5/

A parent whose child survived cancer: "He'd been through chemo, operations and been left disabled and for that reason he didn't get to go to the theme park with his mates. Just felt so unnecessary." Children who have had to fight for their health are being punished for it! 2/

"While non-essential travel to outbreak zones is discouraged and border monitoring intensified, essential international movement continues under strict health safeguards. Travelers are urged to consult official government and public health sources for updates..."

The FDA reviewed 96 child deaths and classified NONE as "certain" to be caused by the Covid vaccine. 2 cases were "probable" and 5 "possible" - but alternative explanations couldn't be ruled out. This contradicts earlier claims that 10 kids died "because of" the vaccine. 1/
