Runners 🌟 A composition I did for @chuwenjie.bsky.social’s Color and Light class back in 2022. I wanted to use compositional elements I hadn’t tried before, like contrasting a single figure vs a group, and golden hour lighting.

My @chuwenjie.bsky.social class homework from Spring 2022. This class really solidified how I think about color and light, a life changing class for me personally !

The same desk space but with rainy weather light from outside infusing the painting with a shadowy grayish blue except for the desk area which is illuminated by a warm lamp light. The coldness of the rainy weather lighting makes the lamp light feel extra warm.

The same desk space but with a beam of golden hour light coming from a window outside the painting frame, creating a rectangular streak of very warm yellow light across the floor, chairs, desk, and wall. The whole painting is lit by golden hour outside and is warm throughout and dramatic with deep shadows.

The same desk space at night with greenish cold light coming from a computer screen. Otherwise, the painting is dark and blue with barely any light coming from moonlight outside. The green artificial light gives the painting a peaceful look.

A travel poster of Village Hidden in the Leaves from Naruto that I drew for a travel poster anthology back in 2021. I wanted to draw something that felt nostalgic of early Naruto with classic team 7 🌸🍥🔥📕

teacher’s office 🍎📚 from a my hero academia x Naruto crossover zine a few years ago!

a colored illustration of a teacher’s office with teachers from both my hero academia and Naruto: Eraserhead, All Might, Present Mic, Lady Midnight, and Vlad King from MHA, and Kakashi, Iruka, Gai, Kurenai, and Azuma from Naruto. The teachers are sitting at their desks relaxing or working during a break where students are walking the halls outside. Kakashi is reading a book and you can see his Icha Icha books and graded papers in and around his desk. Iruka sits next to him with his laptop open to his wallpaper which is a photo of him and Naruto as a child. Gai is sitting back to back with Kakashi from the desk behind him. Eraserhead is laying on his desk looking tired while All Might sits next to him looking concerned and Present Mic is cheerfully talking to him. Lady Midnight and Vlad King are sipping coffee and Azuma and Kurenai are chatting in the back by the blackboard. Bakugo and Ochako are bringing books into the office, Bakugo very begrudgingly, while Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke walk by outside. Naruto waves to Iruka and Kakashi from the doorway.

first time using ink at live figure drawing last year

CLUMP is a comic I wrote together with my friend Chloe when I got accepted into SBCF, then designed and drew throughout 2024. We both work non-creative corporate office jobs (CLUMP is real…) which sustain us enough to spend our free time doing what we love, which is making art about corporate office jobs ♥ we decided right away that the profit from our work should be donated to causes we care about. Haru’s Curse by Asuka Konishi I like this short manga a lot somehow so I keep making drawings about it periodically
