AI sucks, obviously, but I have lowkey become obsessed with the Slop ads that infect every website now. This is maybe my favorite genre of them: Old Man Absolutely Riddled With Alzheimer's Lays on His Deathbed in Full, Crisp Uniform
I feel like Temu Colin Robinson has to go to Kevin Hassett, a guy who's name and picture I got by googling "white house guy looks like colin robinson"

Today, I know exactly when the last time I had a drink was. It was a year ago. I feel an immense amount of pride. I've decided that this is the last day I'll mark the calendar. And tomorrow, if I want a drink, I can have one. I don't think I will, tho. Like I said, just showing alcohol who's boss.
Eventually, I started forgetting to mark the days. Not because I'd started drinking again, but because the ritual was losing its urgency. I would remember at some point and fill in all the previous days four or five at a time. Because I was still not drinking.
Some weeks were better than others. I felt good, at least, about being able to track what I was doing. I wasn't drinking everyday. The days that I did drink, I drank less. And then, on June 24th 2025, I started putting X's on the calendar...
Eventually, I started *wanting* to "earn" an X more than I wanted a drink. I tried not to put a lot of pressure on it, though. I figured stressing about it would likely be counterproductive. And, again, I didn't really want to be sober, exactly. I joked that I just wanted to show alcohol who's boss.
I didn't really have an intention at first. I felt like *something* needed to change. I was really worried about my health. But I also didn't want to quit. So I just tracked the days and it was, at that point, easier to mark the ones without alcohol.
Last March, after struggling with alcohol for a long time, I realized that I couldn't remember the last time I'd gone a day without drinking. I decided, with no real other motive, that I'd start tracking the days I didn't drink.
"Everyone should have to use real names" Okay, my name is Jim Newman and this (the very first result from google image searching "a guy") is what I look like:
