Daemon with a halo. Heavy metal mod. Many other contradictions.
Me: 1 The bastard Sun: 0 Next two hours involve an ice cold beer, an air-conditioned cinema, and A Private Life with Jodie Foster and the brilliant Daniel Auteuil.
Weirdly, your post appeared in my timeline as if you'd posted it today, Saturday. Really nice, simple clear site. A couple of thunks from a copywriter with a UX diploma.
I've just switched Radio 3 Unwind off due to more talking! Now, it's just this and birdsong. Still a strong contender for my AOTY.
It's thirsty work for ducks right now. It was hard to tell if the ducks I saw last night were standing or floating on the water.
What a brilliant idea! The title of this track alone speaks volumes about a certain demographic: TERF Taxidermy And Cheese, by Effluvium. Which neatly covers alt-text duty, too.
I naively believed the weather forecast that it would be cooler outside so headed into Heb wearing long trousers and a thin cotton shirt. The sun behaved like an absolute bastard again, but I found a new shortcut on the way back. For a few minutes all was birdsong and yellow bliss.
I wore my specs while picking wild garlic, for the first time. Glad I did or I'd have made these two homeless. The spider in the first shot was about 3mm in size, the other around 5mm.
*grumpygrumpgrump* Spent a blissful hour picking wild garlic yesterday, but tonight's feast has been waylaid due to a plug that broke in a power socket. Tried everything to remove it, but my hands are already fuming from all the DIY and cleaning I've done today.
I don't think my hooves, knees and thumbs will ever forgive me for that hike/scramble/gravity-defying descent. My eyes, on the other hand... I took so many pics I managed to drain my phone's battery. Annoyingly, too many at the start of my walk, not at the end.
"And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our soul." Walking over the moors on stilts is no easy feat.
It’s almost been a week since I took the extremely long and scenic route into town to buy hummus and I still have pics to process. Time is evaporating.
In between wrestling with flat pack furniture (again) and chores, I managed a few local hikes in over the weekend. I clambered up to the bottom.
I just walked 6.5km into Heb and back, taking the steep lane that goes half way up to the moors. My heart rate didn’t exceed that of a zombie. I’ve not made my 150 minutes of exercise this week and I don’t know how especially with the amount of adderall in me. My heart rate:
I slept for just under 7.5 hours last night. That’s the longest sleep I’ve had in years. I suspect my 20 km hike around Hardcastle Crags (surprisingly quiet) may have helped.
A contender for AOTY. The balcony door is open, augmenting this with chirps and warbles from Blackbirds, Song Thrushes, a Collared-Dove and a Wren. The geese need to work on their harmonies.
Had to run out to the local Sainsbury’s. It’s only 30 seconds away so I slipped on some walking trousers and a jacket over my PJs. Wondered why people kept staring at my t-shirt. Forgot I was wearing this one.
Needed to get some hummus from town. Avoided the crowds on the towpath by taking a 13km diversion up to the moors and down through Nutclough Wood. A bracing wind.
Somehow, I've managed to achieve 533 intensity minutes this week. Such is the need to release pressure from my job (and to stim, healthily). I suspect this morning's walk, followed by a 75-minute HIIT workout, may cause some aches tomorrow.
This is the first moment I’ve had to put my feet up since 10am. Got up at 6am, spent 3 hours editing my CV and wrote a cover letter. Gave the flat a spring clean, then walked 15km along the canal to buy kefir. Fed the ducks and snapped the perfect metaphor for how my life’s going.
Finally! All doors and windows are open. (Ignore the fact that I’m wearing a thermal top.)
The lengths I'll go to, and the detours I'll take, to get a 500g bag of linseed.
Lay down all work, Surrender to the Sun. It is shining, It is shining. Work is getting unsustainably stupid. Stressed, I picked up the wrong vape. Best mistake ever. Instant calmer.
You may enjoy this that was mentioned on R3’s Record Review yesterday. It’s not the only release to blend Nick Drake with John Dowland, either.
#SundayPixTrees The tree with an aura, Gandalf's Path and rickety stone steps curving around a tree that looks like it may topple.
#SundayPixTrees I may have taken one or two (thousand) pics of trees over the years...
