Not afraid to take the path of maximum resistance. Too loud. Habitually overdressed. More responsible than you think.
Doing some reading on Lowland and German women's fashion of the 1500s. Love the smocked aprons (so stylish and practical) so I am giving it a go.
For local context, there is no bikelane on Highland Prkwy. It is a residential street, typically very quiet. It is very narrow because it is split, with a median down the center. The only complaint I have is that drivers can be impatient because there is no room to pass slow vehicles. 1/2
One benefit of living a block from your ex is that when you come home to this and they know hair dye is not allowed in my house, they go to his house to rinse it out with his towels.
Spending a sunny Sunday making a 16th century shift. A linen undershirt was THE THING for like 1,000 years. Everyone in Europe had a bunch. Your shift kept you clean & hygienic. Details in alt text.
Three cheers to Bill, my husband and stepdad extraordinaire! He never had kids of his own, but has adored mine from the moment he met them and takes stepdadding very seriously.
Three cheers to my dad who struggled with the concept of parenting children, but is an amazing grandfather & father to adult children. In the '70s he was cooler than any of us will ever be.
Three cheers to my stepdad Craig. He died in 2020 of schizophrenia. I never thought of him as a dad, but he thought of me as his daughter. In the end, I was his reluctant caregiver & advocate which taught me a lot.
Three cheers for Marc, the father of my lovely children. We aren't great at being married, but we are great friends & co-parents. He's been a loving and playful father from the day each was born!
✔️ Unexpectedly nice beaches ✔️ Easy & accessible public transportation 🆗 Bike infrastructure. Not bad. Mix of very good & kinda scary. ❌ Bixi bike share was expensive & confusing with mediocre customer service.
My Review of Montreal 10/10 recommend as a top vacation destination! ✔️ Walkable neighborhoods that have great shops, restaurants, benches, flowers, diversity in people & architecture ✔️ Feels sorta European without the $$$ & distance ✔️ Goes hard for summer with lots of streets closed to cars 🧵
View out the window while was waiting for the toilet in the back hall of a crepery.
Current POV in Port Montreal. The teenagers are napping in the shade because, like babies, the need a lot of sleep and feedings.
