When there’s a blackout or a brownout in the next year, when your prices go up, ask your Republican Senator why they shut down solar projects that were already under way. The answer is they didn’t agree with it but they were super excited about Medicaid cuts so they went along.

Today, on Presidents Day, my FEMA co-workers are being indiscriminately fired. The same ones that would respond to a disaster in your community and give grants to prepare for and mitigate those future disasters.
In a time when climate change is showing its face in every corner of the
US, including Kentucky this weekend, it's insane that we are allowing the firing of staff in an agency that leads resilience efforts. I'm sharing this information so everyone knows. We'll likely see the whole scene in a few days, and the effects will be felt for generations.

The photo below I took in Greensburg, Kansas, a community torn to the ground by an EF-5 tornado. FEMA staff (and so many other agencies and organizations) played an integral role in its recovery. This, or an earthquake, flood, wildfire, or hurricane, can happen to any/all of our communities and we need a strong and resilient workforce to be able to respond.

Our coalition now includes over 50,000 federal employees from across the government.

We want to remind Americans why Elon Musk's actions are illegal. The so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was not established by Congress but was instead granted authority through an executive order by Trump, making its operations illegal. It is not an official department of the federal government. This system could provide Musk with a mechanism to unilaterally restrict the disbursement of funds approved by Congress-a move that has historically faced significant legal challenges.
