As pointed out by a friend, this bit of ransom casual racism is wild. You couldn't waterboard this story out of me. I would have assumed the CIA produced tougher agents.
Photos taken moments before disaster (my whole back is sunburnt owwwww)
They can't stop you from being hot at work. They'll tell you they can, but they can't. Don't listen to them.
Using this as a transition timeline from now on (thank you Steve Manale)
The deck! I went 3-0 because I can't lose when I'm playing Izzet. The full playset of Elemental Mascots really carried me; shuts down aggro, does damage and draws cards, the bird does it all! Prismari's storm stuff also won me multiple games, such a sweet card.
Just googled it. What is really the difference between this and those ai-generated "My Wife is a REDHEAD and an ENGINEER, and she likes her COFFEE BLACK when she's being a GENIUS" shirts?
Chag sameach! None of us are free until we are all free. Palestinians, Jews, trans people, we all strive for a world where we can live freely, safely and without oppression. The struggle of any oppressed person is all of our struggle.
Anyway, here's me being visible. If somehow someone who sees me realizes they want to come out, that's a win against the fascists. We just want to exist, but don't let the fact that they won't leave us the fuck alone keep you in the closet. We're happier than they'll ever be.
New hair! I Asked for a lob and the stylist accidentally went a touch shorter than I wanted, but the bob is growing on me :)
Do I feel a little conceited saying this about myself? Yeah. Is estrogen the best? Also yeah.
Me: "Hm, I don't know, this new jump manga doesn't seem like my vibe, I think I'll skip this one." Also me: "There's Yuri in this? I am a fan for life."
Am I posting too many selfies lately? Probably. But consider: I was hot last night.
Got dressed up, gonna film a video for my personal channel later, please watch out for it :)
Anyway, Even Though We're Both is very worth reading. It's as messy as it is beautiful, but that's queer love sometimes. When we love each other on the margins of society, it's not easy to leave behind who we thought we were and the people we touched before we broke out of those margins.
The art is also great. I've always loved Shimura's style, which is equal parts grounded and expressive. She switches from hyper-realism to cartoonish faces on a dime. It made me want to revisit Wandering Son, which I haven't read since before I came out. I have Complicated Feelings about that one.
Akari is less complex. She's a fucking yearner and I love her. She's suddenly made the adult in the room over and over, despite feeling out of her depth. She's a perfect foil; emotionally forthcoming where Ayano is unreadable and careless. Two imperfect people find queer love in their imperfections.
By the end, she finally makes decisions that feel rooted in her truth. She can express her wants and needs instead of acting without explaining her reasoning. But she also suffers consequences. Her marriage, her job, her other relationships, I appreciate that this isn't really an idyllic story.
Ayano is a really interesting character, a woman finally understanding that what drives her, who wants to live honestly for the first time in her life. She's seemingly capricious, but she never really expects people to keep up with her shifting moves. She's unrooted, she doesn't know herself.
