An Oak Tree a Day The pictures never seem to show the grandeur of this oak. Maybe I’ll follow back in fall when the lighting hits it differently. Huge & wide & def has had some trauma thrust upon it but it keeps on going. We will survive. Hopefully in better light. California #nativePlants #nature

An Oak Tree a Day This tree has more holes than wood but it keeps on going. The trunk is hollow as are many of the branches. It must still have a functioning cambium layer bc there are leaves. I Maybe take a handsaw to that invasive palm while you can. California #nativePlants #nature

An Oak Tree a Day It’s hot and dry but nobody told the #nativePlants that hold on to the greens even under nasty conditions. Yes, the chaparral might burn hot but it is the invasive plants that spread those flames faster into our neighborhoods. California #nature. Bonus monkey flowers!
