I’ve always been curious about 3228 w Palmer right next to Palmer square. It appears to be an old synagogue that is now condos.
I genuinely love that the City of Chicago owns multiple bounce houses for the sole purpose of bringing to block parties.
Encountering this beautiful display of Clovis points at the Field museum this morning after reading the first chapter of @patrickwyman.bsky.social ‘s new book last night felt quite auspicious.
Here's a cute picture of the two of us as children. Feel free to hit me up if you'd like more info on all of this! 7/7
5. Giant in Logan Square One time we ate here, there was this couple next to us that was having this awful, probing, break-up level fight. They kept on stopping midway through these edge-of-tears, finger-pointing sentences to comment on how delicious the food was. Dinner and a show!
4. Rubi’s Tacos in Pilsen These are my favorite tacos in Chicago. Everything always tastes extremely fresh, and the homemade tortillas are the best in town.
3. Omarcito’s Latin Cafe in Logan Square Everyone around here knows that Omar is the most gregarious and welcoming front of house person in the business, but it'd be worth going here regardless, the food is that good. Some of the most flavorful bites you will find anywhere.
2. Zeitlin's Delicatessen in Lincoln Park I've been eating their bagels at the farmers market for years, which are for my money, the best in town. They opened their first storefront last fall with an expanded menu and its all outstanding. Go and see if you can find my family's picture on the wall!
for no reason at all, here are 5 Chicago restaurants I think you should check out: 1. Loaf Lounge in Avondale Best-in-class breakfast sandwiches, A++ sourdough and pastries from extremely cool people. Their specials are also always fantastic and inventive!
The production team from The Bear dropping off pallets of clothing, food service stuff, and other props at The Parlor (a donation redistribution hub in Logan Square).
Someone on reddit made this cool visualization of chicago music venues by genre distribution. (source: www.reddit.com/r/ChicagoCon...)
Huge Logan Square/ Bucktown news: Trader Joe's location coming to old CVS at 2053 N Milwaukee Ave
Love this extremely chicago picture on the wall at the old town school of Steve Goodman performing with Roger Ebert visible in the audience.
Extremely bummed to see that Open Books is closing its Logan Square location. This is one of the best and perhaps underrated book stores in the city, with an amazing kids section (something a lot of used book stores lack).
