i see a lot of love for gray and lilly and the other beautiful women in this game, but im unfortunately cursed to be down bad for the hint pervert.
picked up coroctile 3d today and I can report that I am using it in it's normal intended manner
Started Void Stranger by System Erasure (funny name) tonight. The hype is totally real, this game is extremely cool! I am 56 floors in (which I assume is still early on since the floor count looks like it goes into triple digits and I assume I haven't touched the nightmare stuff yet. Compelling!
when hollowbel and me played the first two madou monogatari games she kept little maps for all the floors with strange gimmics, so that got me into the habbit of doing the same in other games. I bounced off rhapsody the first time bc of the dungeons, but mapping is making navigating much smoother!
Forgot that all the dungeons in this are composed of these pre-rendered single screen paths (re-used over and over again in different combinations to make the floor layout) which makes navigating very disorienting if you forget where you are.
also didn't notice this situation with culotte's shorts (culotte culotte) where they are chaps that go over his spats? The in-game sprite isn't detailed enough to capture this.
was looking through scans of takehito harada's art books for la pucelle stuff but couldn't find very much, I like this drawing with the mushroom guy though (i think he comes back in Phantom Brave and a couple Disgaea games)
Finished La Pucelle. I think I got the normal ending (kinda bummed, I wanted to get the bad ending which I assume explains why Prier is a demon in Disgaea). But, extremely cute! If I play another NIS game this year, I am thinking either one of the Rhapsodies or Disgaea 2,
Does anyone have thoughts about this one? I don't see it talked about a lot with other PS1 rpgs. I'm thinking of starting it after i'm done with La Pucelle (I should probably finish Xenogears at some point too).
Picked up a couple Susanna Oroyan dollmaking books on an outing today, almost every page is adorned with these gorgeous color photo examples of all sorts of dolls from different artists. Here are some i liked:
Read ch 3&4. Okay, this def has the juice(apple). The way Ivy builds the entire setting around agere while both interrogating it (the millitary is agere, neoliberal capitalism is agere) and at the same time indulging in it at every chance is really compelling. Everybody is an anxious dumb baby.
Played the demo for Sealed Fortress by @minasheep.bsky.social over the last week. Fun little dungeon crawl with a good sense of game design philosophy. Does a lot of show don't tell which is always something I appreciate. I definitely wanna play the full version when it comes out.
