I think @en.ottawa.ca did a very nice job rehabilitating the Hintonburg Pumping Station.
OTM Book 7 regulations are very good, but we seem to default to the 3rd order of "preference" to close the sidewalks and then route people where they won't logically go. Children should have the same safety provisions as workers when negotiating a work zone around cars with safe and logical detours.
Contractors are experts at erecting buildings. Sign companies are experts at putting up signs. Neither are experts in #accessibility or urban mobility. 🛑 🚲🧑🦽🚶
10km per hr makes a huge difference in a family member coming home or not.
#Cargobikes make that trip to Canadian Tire easy peasy. 50lb bag of sand, two bags of mulch, some other yard supplies. And the 90lb pup too. ☺️🚲🐶
Done work? Where ya goin'? Don't you want to stick around and enjoy this for a bit longer?
These signs. 🤦 Even after accessibility and safety upgrades at this intersection. I mean, they even contravene the HTA, which requires motorists to yield to pedestrians at unmarked crosswalks. I really hope there is a culture shift after the next municipal election wrt improving🚶♀️♿🚲 mobility.🤞🤞
Absolutely love seeing this. 🤩 A delivery vehicle that makes sense in an urban setting.💪 #Purolator #Ottawa
I find it bonkers that @en.ottawa.ca still does this at all hours of the night. Leaf blowing...the sidewalks. 🧐 #ClimateEmergency #NoisePollution
This past week's federal announcement to protect natural spaces across the country was amazing! 😍🌳 One part of this plan was 15 new national urban parks! Maybe the Queen Elizabeth National Urban Park WILL become reality?! 😲
Hot Tips🔥 Drivers: pay when you park Also, City: make it easier for drivers to pay. One app, no machines. Paid parking is good for drivers, businesses, and the City.
The Carruthers contraflow bike lane was busy today! Painted contraflow bike lanes should be protected with pin curbs to prevent drivers from parking - even if it's a low volume street. Being forced to bike into oncoming traffic is scary stuff 😲🚲 #ottbike
It's crazy the amount of money earmarked for road widenings that we will then have to maintain for decades, where we could be spending less and cutting transportation expenses for residents by shifting funds to public and active transport.

Southern Nicaragua! New road going in along the coast with protected active transportation lanes! Photos show a shoulder/buffer area, then pin curbs and then the lane. Maybe people get around by bike.
