Earlier this year, we spotted a little toadlet in the pond. It seems to have been basically living in the garden all summer, steadily growing up, but this evening it has a couple of pals!
This bit by Musk is correct, it’s just Musk is part of that group. As are the likes of Trump in the US, Farage and Lowe here.
A strange little scene the other night. The blackbird is in one of his regular singing spots, and was giving it his all. Next to him, a young magpie, sitting quietly. Normally the magpie would freak the blackbird out, but he didn’t seem bothered. This went on for a few minutes. Odd.
Our little toad is still hanging out around the pond, cooling off in the waters. Love his golden eyes.
Entirely unnecessary to get that bit of plant material draped over it, but that’s the hedgehog vibe.

Yorkshire Puffin Festival VII officially put to bed. I am, as always, absolutely shattered. But I’ll be back again next year because I love it.

At 2am it annoys me. At 22.30 it’s adorable. Especially when minutes later it can’t right up to my foot.

We hardly ever get amphibians in the pond so it’s a delight this evening to have an indeterminate number of little toads pop up. Remarkably, this one stuck his head out just as I said “We’ve not seen a frog in months”.
