Think back to the stolen 2024 election when the senile old phony faked being concerned about the 13 soldiers and their families killed while ending the Afghan war. All the coverage. Where is that coverage for those killed in Trump's stupid war? All we ask for is proportional coverage.

For the example of investing in 99 with CAPE above 40, 18 years later the dip from 08 GFC was recovered. If you were unlucky and needed to pay tuition in 09 after housing bubble collapse. Then an investment 18 years earlier in 91 would have a return of 3%. You'd be better off in a government bond.
The only other time the Shiller CAPE ratio was this high was the 1999-2000 dot com bubble. If you look at the S&P 500 level at that time and then its level 18 years later, the annualized return was 2.7%. $1,000 would grow to $1,604 in 18 years. With inflation this would buy less college credits.
