Married gay man, together for 8 years. Enjoying retirement and lots of fresh air outside, especially the ocean. I have a new camera too, it's very confusing but I like exploring the creative side of photography. This photo is actually me.
A couple of years ago a group of us played with photographing through a water bottle. Since it's a new group and the theme today is #glass I did this picture through a glass vase. I liked it enough to share. #BlueSkyArtShow
Another for #growing #BlueSkyArtShow These are Blanket Flowers. Started from seed last November. They are re-seeders and perennials so they will be #growing in my yard forever (zone 8A). #gardening
A couple flowers from my garden this morning. The blanket flower was cute with the itsy-bitsy-spider just hanging out. The white rose is a favorite and it smells like lemon. When the sun hits the plant the whole back yard smells like lemon from the dozen roses on it. #flowers #photography
The Virginia mountains are woven with caverns and amazing stalactites and stalagmites (c=ceiling, g=ground). Still #growing many thousand years later. #photography
It's amazing how #quiet the mountains get when it's foggy. It seems like even the birds are in awe. #BlueSkyArtShow This is the Blue Ridge mountains, NC #photography
I was mowing the grass and noticed my hibiscus was looking fine. So, I got out the camera and started playing with light. Both pictures are the same flower. I don't know how to do this, just stumble on most of it. My camera is far too complicated for me. #flowers #photography
Heavy rain last night gave me this pretty rose picture this morning. I thought you'd enjoy it. #flowers #photography #macro #roses
Did 36 miles of hiking in the Grand Canyon about 20-25 years ago. The hardest thing I have ever done, the most amazing thing I have ever done. #BlueSkyArtShow #Wide
Trying the Macro setting on some seashells I had in my back yard. Nothing earth shattering but fun and something for my next beach trip. #macro #photography #seashore #beach #blueskyartshow
A couple more for #BlueSkyArtShow #macro In macro setting my camera takes 3 pictures in succession with different aperture settings. I really like these pictures but don't know what to do with them so I'll just share them.
One more for #macro #BlueSkyArtShow. I took this one a couple of days ago in the bright sun. It's interesting what the colors do, almost looks painted but it's just the macro setting on my camera. The same coneflower as the other photo only from above.
I couldn't decide. My flowers were so happy after the rain last night. #BlueSkyArtShow #Macro
Yeah, just scars on top of my head which don't bother me since I always wear a hat. The scar from stiches on my nose you can't see now unless I point it out. Thanks for asking.
I bought a seed pack of perennial wildflowers ($3) and planted them in a couple of pots on the deck. I've had flowers for a month now and half of the plants have not flowered yet. This might be fun for beginner gardeners. Easy too. #flowers #gardening #wildflowers
I don't recognize any of y'all's albums but here is mine. I graduated high school in 1971, and The Moody Blues helped me survive high school as a gay young man in the closet.
We're in an extreme drought but the common day lilies perked up after last night's rain. Sadly, my first flower picture of the season. I hope it rains again soon. #flowers #photography
I couldn't decide what to show for #BlueSkyArtShow #Growth so I share a favorite picture with ya'll. An old iron bridge from my youth. It's called "lover's leap" but no longer has water under it. I think the rail is so interesting as it "grows" closer.
Cala lilies are the last in my garden to come up from their winter sleep. They look pretty amazing once blooming. So, for #BlueSkyArtShow #Growth I share my calas with ya'll.
Just came back from the beach and got a nice picture that fits with #Tall #BlueSkyArtShow My favorite pier to photograph.
Morning sun as seen from the Outer Banks, Rodanthe, North Carolina. I couldn't decide which one to post, same beach different morning. #Morning #ocean #BlueSkyArtShow
I have this one. If Ya'll are not in your 70's you probably won't know it. 3/4 is Cher singing perfect Billie Holiday type blues. 1/4 is crap filler at the end.
Still playing, this time a swimming pool from 8 stories above. #BlueSkyArtShow #Background
A trip through some caverns in the Virginia mountains. I had to look up to see if these are stone and yes, stalactites are considered stone. #BlyeSkyArtShow #Stone
From an Alaskan cruise a number of years ago. Glacier flowing to the sea. #BlueSkyArtShow #Flowing
A repeat of melting water flowing from a glacier down the mountain in Alaska. I really like this picture, once in a lifetime shot. #BlueSkyArtShow #Flowing
Just something to brighten your day. I tried to catch the early morning dew on some miniature daffodils. The first sign of spring in my garden. #photography #flowers
